ATP Buenos Aires Day 2 including Sebastian Baez v Bernabe Zapata Miralles

Sebastian Baez in action ahead of the ATP Santiago Open.

Day 2 of the ATP 250 event in Buenos Aires, Argentina kicks off in style with some interesting match ups. Here we will look at four of the singles matches for the day. Who do you think will win?

ATP Buenos Aires Day 2 Predictions

Sebastian Ofner vs Federico Coria

Head to Head: First Meeting

Austrian Sebastian Ofner has not made a great start to the season. Early exits at the most recent tournaments, including the Australian Open, have not been good for Ofner. A semi final in Hong Kong has been his best placement so far. Federico Coria on the other hand is on home soil. The Argentine made the semifinal in Cordoba last week, before returning to Argentina. The Austrian is seeded, but Coria will be on a high.
Prediction: Coria in 2

Juan Pablo Varillas vs Camilo Ugo Carabelli

Head to Head: First meeting

Peruvian Juan Pablo Varillas should be the favorite here. Higher ranked than his Argentine opponent but neither has had the best of starts to the season. Carabelli did win a challenger title in Brazil very recently, so will be riding high. Also having qualified here by taking out two seeded players the Argentine will be looking for another upset. As qualifiers have been known to do in first rounds.
Prediction: Varillas in 3

Andrea Vavassori vs Thiago Seyboth Wild

Head to Head: First Meeting

Italian Andrea Vavassori qualified in great fashion here. Two matches played, taking both in straight sets, including dispatching a seed. Thiago Seyboth Wild played last week in Cordoba and was knocked out in the first round. The Brazilian will be looking to better that, but against a qualifier it wont be easy.
Prediction: Seyboth Wild in 3

Sebastian Baez vs Bernabe Zapata Miralles

Head to Head: First Meeting

Argentine Sebastian Baez is the fifth seed here and will be looking to do better than last week in Cordoba. A semifinal finish there was not bad, but on home soil Baez will want to go further. Spaniard Bernabe Zapata Miralles also played at Cordoba but fell in the second round. Zapata Miralles will want to knock out a seed and home player but this will be difficult with Baez playing well so far.
Prediction: Baez in 2
