ATP Marseilles Day 2 Predictions Including Maxime Cressy vs Arthur Rinderknech

Maxime Cressy in action. He will play on day two at the ATP Queen's Club Championships.

The 31st edition of the Open 13 tournament in Marseilles enters its second day and five French players will be on the cards to continue their quest for victory here on home turf. Former champion, Andy Murray will also be among the party after a 15-year absence. We at LWOT analyze and predict if he and any of the home favorites will make it to the next stage. We also predict the rest of the day’s matches in a separate article, including Andy Murray vs Tomas Machac.

ATP Marseilles Day 2 Predictions

Gregoire Barrere vs Alejandro Davidovich Fokina

Head–to–Head: Barrere 0 vs 1 Fokina

Both players have had contrasting fortunes on hard courts in their careers. The Spaniard has finished with a positive win/loss indoor record only once in the seven seasons he’s competed on tour and has won only twice out of the dozen matches he’s played on the surface since 2022.

The Frenchman, on the other hand, has found tremendous success on the surface having garnered over 200 wins in his career.

Davidovich Fokina leads to head-to-head and he’s the better player but Barrere will feel more at home in these surroundings and I’ll back him to send his opponent to yet another early exit in an indoor event.
Prediction: Barrere in 3

Zhizhen Zhang vs Alexandre Muller

Head–to–Head: Zhang 2 vs 2 Muller

Both players make their debut here in Marseille being equal in their head-to-head. Zhizhen Zhang arrives here on the back of a shock loss to Sebastian Dominko who is ranked outside the top 1000 and it remains to be seen if he’s still reeling from that disappointment.

Muller is the more experienced player and the conditions here will suit his tennis. Take him to take out the Chinese player.
Prediction: Muller in 3

Maxime Cressy vs Arthur Rinderknech

Head–to–Head: Cressy 1 vs 2 Rinderknech

Maxime Cressy seems to be enjoying his job again after a miserable time last season. The big-serving American only managed to win 19 matches last year; however, virtually all were in indoor tournaments.

His opponent hasn’t picked up from where he left off last year having been unable to secure a victory on the main tour this year.

This promises to be a closely contested match with the player who’s able to hold their serve coming out victorious. I’ll trust the rejuvenated American.
Prediction: Cressy in 3
