There is another very busy day of action scheduled at the ATP Paris Masters. Alexander Zverev is one of those still in the race for the ATP Finals, and his match is one of five contests predicted in this article. As always, we at LWOT also predict the other matches on Day 2 in Paris in separate articles. Which players do you think will win?
ATP Paris Masters Day 2 Predictions
Felix Auger-Aliassime vs Jan-Lennard Struff
Head-to-head: Auger-Aliassime 1-1 Struff
Auger-Aliassime comes into this match after his stunning run to the title in Vienna. This matchup is similar to the final in Austria against Hubert Hurkacz, with Struff also relying heavily on his serve and forehand. It has been a career-best season for the 33-year-old, but Struff only recently returned from a three-month injury, and has not reached the same heights since. Fatigue could be an issue for Auger-Aliassime, who plays this match two days after his triumph in Vienna. However, the Canadian won three titles in three weeks last season, which shows his fitness levels. Expect him to be clinical enough to defeat Struff.
Prediction: Auger-Aliassime in 3
Ugo Humbert vs Marcos Giron
Head-to-head: Humbert 2-0 Giron
These two played an epic match last week in Basel, with Humbert prevailing in a final set tiebreak. Both players have enjoyed their best seasons to date. Giron’s level last week against the Frenchman was impressive, especially considering it came so soon after his tough loss in the Tokyo semifinal to Ben Shelton, where Giron led 5-2 in the deciding set. Nonetheless, Humbert is likely to progress at the ATP Paris Masters. He is the type of player to be inspired by his home crowd and Giron may run out of steam after two very tight losses in a row before this contest.
Prediction: Humbert in 2

Tallon Griekspoor vs Alejandro Davidovich Fokina
Head-to-head: Griekspoor 1-0 Davidovich Fokina
This is one of the second-round clashes on Day 2. Griekspoor recovered from losing the first set to defeat Christopher Eubanks, while Davidovich Fokina won a thrilling contest with Ben Shelton. Davidovich Fokina is quite mercurial, with the level seen against Ben Shelton not being seen regularly throughout the season. Therefore, this ATP Paris Masters contest is a difficult one to predict. Overall, Davidovich Fokina’s varied style is a bad matchup for Griekspoort, and that is likely to make him the favourite to progress.
Prediction: Davidovich Fokina in 3
Nicolas Jarry vs Alexander Bublik
Head-to-head: Jarry 1-0 Bublik
This is the other second-round match in this article. Jarry overcame Alexei Popyrin in two tight sets, while Bublik was outstanding in his straight sets win against 13th seed Francis Tiafoe. This is likely yo be decided by fine margins. Both players serve big and strike the ball powerfully from the back of the court. Bublik’s best level is better than the Chilean’s, especially on an indoor hard court, but he can very unpredictable. Nonetheless, he gets a slight edge to win at the ATP Paris Masters.
Prediction: Bublik in 3
Alexander Zverev vs Marton Fucsovics
Head-to-head: First meeting
Zverev seemed almost assured of his place at the ATP Finals a few weeks ago. However, first-round losses in Shanghai and Tokyo mean the German still has work to do to secure his place in Turin, and this is a dangerous first-round match. Fucsovics has beaten players like Taylor Fritz and Sebastian Korda in 2023. The consistent hitting of Zverev is likely to be too much at the ATP Paris Masters, but an upset is not out of the question if he drops his level.
Prediction: Zverev in 2
