ATP Los Cabos Final Prediction: Stefanos Tsitsipas vs Alex de Minaur

Stefanos Tsitsipas in action ahead of the ATP Los Cabos Open.

The field at this year’s ATP Los Cabos Open has been whittled down to the last two men with the top-seeded Stefanos Tsitsipas will take on Australia’s Alex de Minaur in the final during Sunday’s final. Tsitsipas who opted in this here rather than the ATP 500 event in Washington comes into this final without a title at any level for the season, a stat he will no doubt be desperate to change on Saturday night. De Minaur meanwhile is on a nine-match winning streak in Mexico after clinching the title in Acapulco earlier in the season.

ATP Los Cabos Final Prediction

Stefanos Tsitsipas vs Alex de Minaur

Head-to-head: Tsitsipas 9-0 de Minaur

After beating John Isner in his opener and then Nicolas Jarry to reach the last four, the Greek star played a flawless match in the semifinals against Borna Coric, who has posed a significant threat against him in recent past to come out victorious in straight sets, dropping just give games in a 6-3 6-2 win.

The fifth seed de Minaur on the other hand came through another three setter against Dominik Koefer in the second semifinal having already been taken the distance by Tommy Paul in the quarterfinals. He should still have fuel in the tank, however, after comfortable wins in the first and second rounds over Skander Mansouri and Thiago Tirante respectively.

De Minaur will need to turn around a very lopsided head-to-head if he is to win his tenth match on the bounce in Mexico. Tsitsipas has won all nine of their previous matches, winning their most recent match in the quarterfinals of Barcelona in straight sets earlier this season.

Tsitsipas will be playing his third final of the season and this is a great chance for him to finally end his 7 months title drought. De Minaur’s style of play has often played right into the Greek’s hand hence the lopsided nature of the head to head and I don’t see that changing here. De Minaur may well give a better account of himself in more favourable conditions, but expect Tsitsipas’ perfect record against him to escape the match unscathed.

Prediction: Tsitsipas in 2

It should be an entertaining final at the ATP Los Cabos Open. But will it be Alex de Minaur or Stefanos Tsitsipas who lifts the title?
