Nadal demolished Fritz when they met in the Acapulco final in 2020, Fritz will be hoping to perform better and take advantage of a tired Nadal to win an upset in this match. Nadal was pushed to his limit physically and strategically by fellow Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, winning their semifinal in three sets, Nick Kyrgios and Sebastian Korda also took sets off Nadal this week, Nadal is hunting his fourth title this season, he’s been the clear world #1 this year and is having some of the best results of his career on hard courts. Fritz upset Andrey Rublev after winning three straight three set matches to reach the semifinals.
