ATP Dallas Day 4 Predictions Including Adrian Mannarino vs Yoshihito Nishioka

Yoshihito Nishioka 2021 Singapore Open

Day 4 the ATP Dallas Open features four main draw second round matches. The action features some players who made their way through qualifiers as well as seeded Americans Reilly Opelka and Jenson Brooksby.  We here at LWOT will be offering our predictions for every match on the slate, including Adrian Mannarino vs Yoshihito Nishioka. But who will advance?

ATP Dallas Day Four Predictions

Jurij Rodionov vs Vasek Pospisil

Head-to-head: First meeting

Jurij Ridionov and Vasek Pospisil both have three matches under their belt thus far in Dallas as they both advanced through two rounds of qualifiers to make the main draw. Their round one matches, however, were two very different levels of difficulty. The 22-year-old Rodionov spent over two hours on court during his 7-6, 4-6, 6-1 win over #6 seed Maxime Cressy. Pospisil spent just 56 minutes on court, defeating college wild card Caleb Chakravarthi 6-1, 6-0. Ridionov has just seven tour-level wins in his early career but has a tricky game as a left-hander that may give the Canadian some problems. With that being said, I think Pospisil will have more energy in the tank down the stretch.
Prediction: Pospisil in 3

Jenson Brooksby vs Andreas Seppi

Head-to-head: First meeting

Jenson Brooksby returns to the tour for his first main level tournament of the season. The young American was sidelined from Australia due to a positive COVID test. He is looking to continue his ascend in the tour rankings. His opponent, 37-year-old Italian Andreas Seppi, came back from a set down to beat Daniel Altmaier in round one. Seppi looked more in form in round one after struggling during the Australian circuit. I do, however, favor Brooksby in this match. He should be able to wear the veteran down and take advantage of the longer rallies.
Prediction: Brooksby in 2

Reilly Opelka vs Cedrik-Marcel Stebe

Head-to-head: Opelka 1-0 Stebe

#2 overall seed Reilly Opelka enjoyed a first-round bye as his opponent, Cedrik-Marcel Stebe, spent two hours and 35 minutes on court during his 7-6, 3-6, 6-3 win over Denis Kudla. Stebe, who also played two, three-set qualifying matches, will have to dig deep to beat the big serving American. The two have met just one time during Wimbledon 2019 with Opelka winning in straight sets. Stebe will be fatigued and Opelka is the much better player. This one should be pretty straightforward.
Prediction: Opelka in 2

Adrian Mannarino vs Yoshihito Nishioka

Head-to-head: Mannarino 1-0 Nishioka

Adrian Mannarino and Yoshihito Nishioka wrap up day four on stadium court as two of the more in-form players in this tournament. Mannarino is 6-2 in his last eight matches. Nishioka made two Challenger finals, winning one, in the two weeks prior to this tournament. The one matchup between the two was on an indoor hard court in Paris with the Frenchmen winning in three sets. This match should display some high level tennis. Nishioka should look to work his cross-court forehand to work the weaker Mannarino backhand. I think this one could go a long three sets.
Prediction: Nishioka in 3
