The final in Italy at the WTA Courmayeur tournament will be contested between Clara Tauson and Donna Vekic, here is our look at this final on indoor hard courts.
Clara Tauson vs Donna Vekic
Tauson has worked her way through some tough matches to reach this final with three set wins over Ann Li and Ludmilla Samsonova back to back. Tauson is having a career year and will be looking for a fourth WTA title on the season (Luxembourg last month, Chicago 125, and Lyon already in her trophy case). All of her titles have come on hard courts as the Danish player has secured a place in the top 50 on the WTA Tour already. Vekic has been dominant this week on her path to the final not dropping a set through four matches including a semifinal win over Jasmine Paolini, a home player. Vekic is a surprise this week, as this is her first WTA final in over two years and perhaps a sign of things to come.
Vekic has way more experience than the Danish teenager who started on tour this year, Tauson has more upside to her game but may be battling fatigue. I expect this match to be close, with Tauson continuing her winning ways. Tauson in 3
