WTA Chicago Day 1 Predictions Including Marta Kostyuk vs Katherine Sebov

Marta Kostyuk Wimbledon 2021

WTA Tennis gets underway in the Windy City, it’s day 1 of the Chicago Open on hard courts, as players continue to prepare for the US Open. We have predictions for all of your matches, Including Varvara Gracheva vs Tamara Zidansek.

Rebecca Peterson vs Marie Bouzkova

Peterson qualified for Cincinnati, her hard court record has been limited and lacking this season however. Bouzkova has struggled since reaching the quarterfinals of Birmingham on the grass, the Czech player started the year great on hard courts but has lost momentum, though the potential for another run is always there. I’ll go with the veteran Peterson by a small margin. Peterson in 3

Marta Kostyuk vs Katherine Sebov

Kostyuk plays on North American hard courts for the first time this summer, this will be her first tournament match since Wimbledon. It’s been a solid season for Kostyuk and Sebov has posted no notable results at the WTA level, this appears to be a mismatch unless Kostyuk is out of form or Sebov plays much better than her ranking. Kostyuk in 2

Danka Kovinic vs Francoise Abanda

Kovinic has lost three straight along with missing the grass court season due to injury. Kovinic had a great two weeks of tennis in Charleston but has done very little else of note this season. Abanda is an ITF level player though who is significantly removed from her career high ranking. Kovinic should be able to figure out how to get to get the win. Kovinic in 2
