WTA Cincinnati Day 3 Predictions Including Elina Svitolina vs Angelique Kerber

Elina Svitolina in action at the WTA Miami Open.

We are up to Day 3 of the WTA Western & Southern Open in Cincinnati, Ohio. The slate is full of incredible matches. Wednesday in the Queen City is a tennis fan’s dream. We’re here at LWOT, as always, to offer our thoughts on every match for you. Who do you think will win?

WTA Cincinnati Day 3 Predictions

Aryna Sabalenka vs Paula Badosa

This should be a very good match. Sabalenka is looking like a world-beater and a potential Major champion. She can blast everyone off the court, and she’s hitting the ball cleanly and consistently. Badosa, meanwhile, looks like a future Major champion herself, and she’s still improving. Unfortunately for her, her main advantages come on slower courts. On a hard court this fast, Sabalenka should be able to just blast the ball past her.
Prediction: Sabalenka in 2

Bianca Andreescu vs Karolina Muchova

Andreescu might be the most talented player we’ve seen in decades. Unfortunately for her, she can never seem to stay healthy. She basically didn’t lose a match in 2019, but she also missed much of the season. She hasn’t managed to stay injury-free since then, either. Muchova’s rise was not as high, but it was as rapid. The Russian likes fast hard courts, but this won’t be on her racket. If Andreescu is healthy, she’ll win. I don’t think she’s fully healthy.
Prediction: Muchova in 3

Elina Svitolina vs Angelique Kerber

This should be an absolutely incredible match. Kerber’s ranking has fallen a bit in recent years, but she’s still one of the most talented players on tour. Svitolina, meanwhile, seemed to finally find her groove at the Olympics, where she captured the Bronze Medal. Then again, she lost in disappointing fashion to Johanna Konta in the opening round in Montreal. So both of these women can be the best in the world on any given day, but neither are currently up to doing it consistently. Let’s hope we get their best in this match. Based on recent form, I have to go with Svitolina. Barely.
Prediction: Svitolina in 3
