WTA Elite Trophy Day 3 Predictions Including Dayana Yastremska vs Kiki Bertens

Kiki Bertens China Open

Day 3 at the WTA Elite Trophy in Zhuhai should be interesting as group play continues. The night match between Kiki Bertens and Dayana Yastremska will decide who advances out of the Azalea group. Find out who we think moves on in Zhuhai.

WTA Elite Trophy Day 3 Predictions

Petra Martic vs Madison Keys

H2H- Martic leads 1-0

Nothing seemed to go right for American Madison Keys in her opening match against Zheng Saisai. Sometimes when it gets this late into the season we see some low-quality matches and that was certainly one of them. The round-robin format presents her with the opportunity to redeem herself against Petra Martic, but it’ll be a tough ask. Martic is not the player you want to be playing if you’re struggling to put the ball in the court. I think Keys plays better than she did the other day, but Martic should win.
Prediction: Martic in 2

Alison Riske vs Karolina Muchova

H2H- Riske leads 1-0
Alison Riske faced the tough task today of going up Sofia Kenin. Her loss to Kenin puts her in a tough spot now in regards to advancing past the group stage. Karolina Muchova is playing her first match in Zhuhai and should be in good form after winning the title in Seoul last month. Muchova is currently having the best year of her career and I think that will carry over in Zhuhai. I think Muchova wins here setting up a match against Kenin with the winner advancing to the semifinals.
Prediction: Muchova in 3

Kiki Bertens vs Dayana Yastremska

H2H- Bertens leads 1-0
Dayana Yastremska was able to wear down Donna Vekic, who was playing her second match in as many days. Now it’s Yastremska’s turn to play two days in a row while Kiki Bertens had the day off today. Heading into Zhuhai, I didn’t know how Bertens would handle the disappointment of just missing out on the WTA finals, but she played well in her first match defeating Donna Vekic in straight sets. If Yastremska played the way she did today she’ll keep it close, but Kiki Bertens is a step up from Donna Vekic. I think Bertens wins here and advances to the semifinals.
Prediction: Bertens in 3
