Shanghai Masters Monday Predictions Including Mikhail Kukushkin vs Miomir Kecmanovic

Shanghai Masters Miomir Kecmanovic

Who will win on Monday at the Shanghai Masters? We’re here to try and predict all the matches for you. This article contains four matches, but we predict the other eight matches as well.

Shanghai Masters Monday Predictions

Benoit Paire vs Marco Cecchinato

Head-to-head: First meeting

As much as everyone (myself included) likes to qualify Paire as “mercurial” or “unpredictable,” he really has been playing well for most of this year. Cecchinato, meanwhile, has been in awful form recently. He has lost ten of his last 11 Tour-level matches, and the only win came via an Alexander Bublik retirement. A year ago, I would have easily gone with the Italian. Right now, though, the Frenchman is a clear heavy favorite in this match.
Prediction: Paire in 2

Jeremy Chardy vs Kyle Edmund

Head-to-head: Edmund 2-1

These two played a great five-setter on the clay of the French Open earlier this year. Chardy has struggled in recent months, but Edmund is on a five-match losing streak. The Frenchman came through qualifiers here, which will likely give him a bit more comfort with the surface. In a match of two players desperately searching for better form, that might be what makes all the difference.
Prediction: Chardy in 3

Pablo Carreno Busta vs Ze Zhang

Head-to-head: First meeting

Zhang is a wild card who hasn’t seen any real success on the Challenger circuit recently, let alone in Tour-level events. Meanwhile, Carreno Busta won a title in Chengdu two weeks ago and is playing some of his best tennis. It’s hard to see this as anything but a brutally efficient win for the Spaniard.
Prediction: Carreno Busta in 2

Mikhail Kukushkin vs Miomir Kecmanovic

Head-to-head: First meeting

Kecmanovic was looking at a breakout summer a few months ago, but hasn’t really managed to do much since the US Open. Kukushkin, meanwhile, hasn’t done anything spectacular recently either. Both of these players accomplish exactly what you might expect from someone with their rankings. Kecmanovic has the higher upside, though, so maybe this will be where he starts to show that real future potential.
Prediction: Kecmanovic in 3
