This WTA Hamburg final is a very interesting matchup. Bettors will immediately look at the head-to-head record and see that Korpatsch has not lost to Bondar in four meetings. However, only one of the four matches has been played since 2022, and that was in 2024, two years ago. It’s not easy to assign a lot of weight to the head-to-head.
What is more interesting and probably relevant to the match is that the two players got to the final in different ways. Both players have needed three sets to win multiple matches this week in Germany. They have not been overwhelming. They have been tough and gritty. Bondar is the betting-market favorite, but she barely beat Avanesyan on Saturday. Korpatsch spent a lot less time on court in Saturday’s semifinals, so she will be at an advantage in terms of rest. You could get a lot of value on betting on Korpatsch to win the match outright, but the most sensible standalone wager is to go for over 2.5 sets. This match figures to be close and complicated. That’s when you should expect three sets in a match.
