Jasmine Paolini ahead of Wimbledon

Wimbledon Quarterfinal Predictions Including Jasmine Paolini vs Marta Kostyuk

Another Grand Slam, another wide-open draw on the women’s side. With Coco Gauff and Karolina Muchova already punching their ticket to the Wimbledon quarterfinals, Day 10 of the Championships will put us one step closer to crowning a new champion. With two more scintillating quarterfinal matches on the docket, we at LWOT provide our roundtable predictions for the contests. But who will advance?

Wimbledon Quarterfinal Predictions

Linda Noskova vs Elise Mertens

Shane
No. 9 seed Linda Noskova is actually the second-highest-ranked player left in the draw. The 21-year-old Czech made her top ten debut last week and has the baseline firepower to be a mainstay at the top of the women’s game for years to come. That said, Mertens has looked phenomenal at Wimbledon, including a trouncing of No. 2 seed Elena Rybakina. Both women are playing with extreme confidence, but I give the slight edge to the Belgian, who I trust to hold her nerve in the tense moments.
Prediction: Mertens in 3

Ateet
After upsetting Elena Rybakina in the third round, Elise Mertens backed it up with another straight-sets win over Marie Bouzkova. This is Mertens’ best run at Wimbledon, and she will fancy her chances of progressing further in this wide-open section. Linda Noskova got a great win over the in-form Madison Keys in the fourth round, and if she can keep her composure, she will be in prime position to win this match.
Prediction: Noskova in 3

Jordan
There is a clear clash of styles in this matchup. Noskova will try to hit her experienced opponent off the court from the start. That sort of matchup often suits Mertens, as she showed against Elena Rybakina. I expect this to be close, but for the multiple-time Grand Slam doubles champion to prevail.
Prediction: Mertens in 3

Jim
It’s been a fantastic tournament for Elise Mertens and one she probably needed at this stage in her career after some disappointing results in recent years at the Majors. But will she be able to maintain her charge against the in-form Linda Noskova? Possibly, but the Czech has been in excellent form and will surely be full of confidence. Given that, and the fact that she surely has a higher ceiling than the Belgian, a win for Noskova looks the likelier outcome – though she may not have things all her own way.
Prediction: Noskova in 3

Jasmine Paolini vs Marta Kostyuk

Shane
Paolini reached the final at Wimbledon back in 2024; she knows what it takes to win big matches at SW19. But Kostyuk has been unbelievable this year, posting a 21-1 record since April. Although most of that success was on the dirt, Kostyuk has proven she can play on all surfaces. I think you have to pick her until she loses, right?
Prediction: Kostyuk in 3

Ateet
Former Finalist Jasmine Paolini was struggling for form all season, but what a time she has chosen to find her game. She used her experience to great effect against Alexandra Eala and held her nerves better in tight moments. Marta Kostyuk played her best match in the fourth round and is in her first Wimbledon quarterfinal. She has won a lot of matches in the last two months, and her confidence is as high as ever. Paolini is a fighter, so I can see her winning a set, but Kostyuk’s consistency gives her the edge.
Prediction: Kostyuk in 3

Jordan
Both women are exceptional athletes with different groundstroke strengths. Paolini tries to control points with her forehand, while Kostyuk possesses one of the best backhands in women’s tennis. Kostyuk has had a great tournament, but I favor her opponent on grass. Paolini has a more complete game and variety that I feel will make the difference.
Prediction: Paolini in 2

Jim
Jasmine Paolini doesn’t necessarily have a classic grass-court game, at least in the modern era, but she is accurate, has good hands, and is comfortable taking the ball early. She also tends to play her best tennis on the biggest stage. Marta Kostyuk, meanwhile, is continuing an excellent stretch and has been hitting the ball extremely well throughout the first four matches at Wimbledon. There’s not been much between them in their head-to-head or in the rankings. But Paolini has that much more big-match experience, particularly at this tournament as a former-finalist. In a close contest, that might just make all the difference.
Prediction: Paolini in 3
