An error-strewn victory over Robin Haase earlier on in the week at the ATP Swiss Indoors Basel notched up 50 match wins of the season for Germany’s Alexander Zverev. He followed this up by a consistent win 51 of the season against Popyrin in the 2nd round. Zverev is improving, especially in the double fault area–five in his first game and just one in his last match. He goes into the quarterfinals against an improving Roberto Bautista-Agut of Spain.
