Who do you think will win?

Wimbledon Day 8 Predictions

Ashlynn Krueger vs Marta Kostyuk

Andreas:
Krueger has had a brilliant run at this tournament, while Kostyuk’s faced some neck-and-neck matches. The Ukrainian, nearing the WTA Top 10, has a higher ceiling on tour, but Krueger is on a brutal win streak at 11. The American’s strong serve and height makes her a threat on the grass. Going for the upset here.
Prediction: Krueger in 3

Yesh:
Kostyuk is playing some of the best tennis of her career, and her game is strong on grass. Krueger, meanwhile, is playing the absolute best tennis of her career. But her level is still not quite up to Kostyuk’s. It should be a great match, though.
Prediction: Kostyuk in 3

Ilemona:
Kostyuk has been on a different level to everyone she’s faced here, dropping just one set in three matches and carrying a remarkable 27-5 record into the fourth round. Krueger is a gutsy qualifier who beat Snigur comfortably, but the step up in class is steep. Kostyuk’s consistency and grass-court form make her the clear pick.
Prediction: Kostyuk in 2

Madison Keys vs Linda Noskova

Andreas:
This should be a fun match. Noskova had to save a match point in her third round win, while Keys upended the defending finalist Amanda Anisimova in her most recent win. Both have strong forehands and play first-strike tennis, but Keys tends to heat up as these big tournaments progress.
Prediction: Keys in 3

Yesh:
Madison Keys is playing so well right now. She’s locked in, counterpunching with tremendous firepower. She’s in the form that won her an Australian Open, and this draw is ripe for her to claim a second Major.
Prediction: Keys in 2

Ilemona:
Keys has won 10 of her last 11 matches and holds a 9-1 record on grass this season, with her movement and striking looking sharper each round. Noskova is powerful and dangerous, but she was taken to a tense third set by Cirstea and hasn’t looked entirely convincing. Keys’ form and confidence give her the edge.
Prediction: Keys in 2

Elise Mertens vs Marie Bouzkova

Andreas:
Mertens is looking to reach a first Wimbledon quarterfinal, coming off one of her biggest Grand Slam wins over Elena Rybakina. Her consistency has proven to be a challenge on these fast courts. Bouzkova, however, brings a level of craftiness that could disrupt the Belgian’s rhythm. Bouzkova went deep in this tournament in 2021, and as she’s coming off a WTA 250 grass court title earlier this summer, I can see her persisting through this one.
Prediction: Bouzkova in 3

Yesh:
Mertens has made a career of never losing in the earliest rounds of Majors, but right now she has an incredible opportunity for a rare deep run. Bouzkova is playing well, but I feel like Mertens has more ability to use the grass to her advantage.
Prediction: Mertens in 3

Ilemona:
Neither player gives away many free points, and this could turn into one of the more tactical matches of the round. Bouzkova’s movement and consistency are well suited to grass, but Mertens has a little more variety in her game and has generally handled this matchup well in the past.
Prediction: Mertens in 3

Alexandra Eala vs Jasmine Paolini

Andreas:
This match deserves the Centre Court slot, with two popular players on the WTA Tour vying for a quarterfinal appearance. It’s been a tough 2026 for Paolini, but with less pressure on her shoulders, she cruised through her previous two matches. Eala achieved one of her biggest career wins Saturday when taking out Iga Swiatek, but replicating that performance could be a challenge. I see this match going either way, but Paolini may have less to lose.
Prediction: Paolini in 3

Yesh:
Can Eala back up her stunning (or perhaps not so stunning) upset of Iga Swiatek? That’s the question on everyone’s mind. There is zero doubt that the Filipina has the talent to go far here. She also shows no fear in the big moments. Ultimately, though, Paolini presents a craftier all-court challenge than Swiatek did. Eala needs a little more experience at the chess-match type matches. She already has neutralizing power down, but she hasn’t faced many opponents who can blend power with tactical advantages.
Prediction: Paolini in 3

Ilemona:
Eala beat Paolini in their only previous meeting–in Dubai earlier this year–and has been the player of the tournament, taking out defending champion Iga Swiatek in the third round. Her flat, left-handed ball-striking is a genuine problem on grass, and she carries a 11-3 record on the surface into this match. The momentum and the head-to-head both point the same way.
Prediction: Eala in 3
