The WTA Hertogenbosch tournament, slowed by rain, moves along on Friday. Matches have been suspended on consecutive days, so the tournament is behind schedule. However, the tournament director has decided to finish up the Round of 16 early on Friday and then play all four quarterfinals later in the day to get back on schedule. Fortunately, three of the four quarterfinals are set, which gives us the chance to do what we normally do and give you the typical three-pack. LWOS has our picks and best bets for three matches. Post your best bets and thoughts in the comments.
WTA Hertogenbosch
Krejcikova – Ruse: Time 5:00 EST
H2H: 2-1
Barbora Krejcikova faces Elena Gabriela Ruse. Krejcikova, the former Wimbledon champion, looks very comfortable on grass at Hertogenbosch. She blew out Hanne Vandewinkel in her most recent match, showing the rhythm and shotmaking of an elite player. Ruse is coming into this match in good form as well, however. She just shocked Elise Mertens in a surprisingly easy straight-set match. Ruse was 0-4 against Mertens going in, but you never would have known it by the way Ruse sliced through her opponent.
Best Bet to Make
Ruse obviously surprised a lot of people by easily defeating Mertens, but Krejcikova looks very solid and in form. Given how great Krejcikova has been on grass in the past and seeing the kind of rhythm she has at the moment, it’s still easier to trust Krejcikova than Ruse at this point. You could go with over 2.5 sets if you think Ruse is up to the task here, but we think Krejcikova will dominate. Krejcikova moneyline doesn’t offer quite enough of a price to make us recommend it to you as a value bet. We think Krejcikova can get this done in straight sets. That will pay handsomely if it cashes.
That being said, betting on Krejcikova winning 2:0 is a value bet for sure.

Sonmez – Linette: Time 7:30 EST
H2H: 1–0
Zeynep Sonmez faces Magda Linette at Hertogenbosch. Both players looked solid in their previous rounds. Sonmez played a very strong first set against Anastasia Potapova before the match ended early in the second set with Potapova retiring. Linette easily defeated Mia Pohankova, winning in straight sets and covering a 7.5-game spread for anyone who made that particular wager. Now the two in-form players meet in the first week of the grass season. This looks like the most interesting quarterfinal matchup on Thursday. It is priced as a virtual toss-up, with the average moneyline odds being 1.90 for Sonmez and 1.87 for Linette.

Best Bet to Make
Pick a winner here at Hertogenbosch. You’ll get a good price either way. Our lean is to Sonmez for a few reasons. First, her win over Potapova was a more impressive win than Linette’s victory over the much lower-ranked Pohankova. The second reason is that Linette is a little bit more comfortable on clay and might not feel nearly as secure with her shots against an opponent, Sonmez, who is a lot better than Pohankova was. Sonmez was ready for Potapova. If she could be ready for Potapova, she will definitely be ready for Linette.
That being said, betting on Sonmez winning is a value bet for sure.

Snigur – Montgomery: Time 9:00 EST
H2H: 0–0
Daria Snigur faces Robin Montgomery. Snigur needed three sets, but she did toughen up in the final set to beat Panna Udvardy. Montgomery was very impressive in a straight-set win as an underdog against Greetje Minnen. Snigur is ranked 400 spots higher than Montgomery, but Montgomery is 4-0 on grass this season and obviously loves playing on the surface. It’s a familiar scenario: Do you trust the much higher-ranked player or the player who is comfortable on a surface that helps her game?
Best Bet to Make
It’s a situation where you should try to fold Montgomery +1.5 sets into a parlay at 1.49. That’s not a good enough price to recommend for a single bet, but that can be a parlay piece. You will get a solid price (not amazing, but acceptable) on the Snigur moneyline, trusting that the higher-ranked player will ultimately find a way to win. This is one of those matches in which you should put down two bets, one in a parlay. Our standalone bet, however, is clear: Snigur moneyline.
That being said, betting on Snigur winning is a value bet for sure.
