The WTA French Open action continues on Tuesday. The 2026 edition of Roland Garros enters its third day of first-round competition. The field of 128 players will be sliced down to 64. Noskova – Sakkari: Time 6:30 EST

Linda Noskova faces Maria Sakkari. Noskova made the quarterfinals of Madrid and the Round of 16 in Rome. She has had a solid clay season. Maria Sakkari, a former French Open semifinalist, is struggling. She did not get past the second round of either Madrid or Rome. She used to be an excellent clay-court player. She defeated Iga Swiatek at the French Open the year when she made her way to the semifinals. She can play on this surface, but her form right now just isn’t very good.
Best Bet to Make
The downturn of Maria Sakkari’s career is impossible to ignore here. She is a talented player but not a confident one. Noskova has created good results in her recent clay tournaments. She is physically fresh because she decided not to play any additional tournaments after Rome. She should be ready to play a solid match against a struggling opponent and win convincingly.
That being said, betting on Noskova winning 2:0 is a value bet for sure.

Vandewinkel – Keys: Time 9:00 EST

Hanne Vandewinkel faces Madison Keys. Vandewinkel is 2-5 in her last seven matches. Ranked just inside the top 100, it has been hard for Vandewinkel to generate extra momentum and push her ranking upward so that she can automatically qualify for important tournaments later this year. Madison Keys just made the final of the Paris WTA 125 tournament before starting her French Open campaign. That Paris 125 run gave Keys a 4-1 record in her last five matches and some momentum heading into the year’s clay major tournament.
Best Bet to Make
The upward trajectory of Madison Keys and the struggles of Vandewinkel point to a decisive Keys win. You won’t get much of a price for Keys winning in straight sets, so you have to go to the game spread instead. Keys should be able to cover a medium-sized spread. The 5.5 number is evenly priced, so that’s probably where you should go. If you wanted to bet on 6.5 games, you could, but 5.5 is a little safer and still has a reasonably good price.
That being said, betting on Keys -5.5 games is a value bet for sure.

Gauff – Townsend: Time 9:30 EST

Coco Gauff begins the defense of her 2025 French Open championship. She faces Taylor Townsend in the first round. Gauff went to the Rome final before losing in three sets to Elina Svitolina. Gauff completed multiple comebacks during her Rome tournament this year. She won multiple three-set matches and got stronger in the latter part of matches. Tennis bettors will be interested to see whether she can start faster in matches and avoid having to come from behind. Taylor Townsend went through the qualifying rounds in Rome and got to the third round. She is 4-1 in her last five matches. Can she pull the upset?
Best Bet to Make
Coco Gauff should be highly motivated to play well, since she is defending her French Open title. On the other hand, Townsend played good tennis in Rome, stringing together several match victories and developing rhythm leading into this match. There is little doubt that Gauff will win the match outright, but in terms of a betting angle, Townsend is looking forward to this match just as much as Gauff is. Because Townsend is playing well, the idea that the match will be close seems just as likely as Gauff ultimately winning it. Gauff will advance, but Townsend is not going to get blown off the court. Take Townsend on the game spread.
That being said, betting on Townsend +5.5 games is a value bet for sure.
