The WTA French Open action continues on Monday. The 2026 edition of Roland Garros goes into the second day of first-round competition. The first round started on Sunday and will end on Tuesday, as the field goes from 128 down to 64. There are so many matches and stories to keep track of. Which top seeds are in danger? Which floaters in the draw will begin to pick up momentum, which could flow into the rest of the tournament? These and other interesting questions will soon be answered. Pridankina – Oliynykova: Time 5:00 EST

Elena Pridankina faces Oleksandra Oliynykova. Pridankina is ranked World No. 222; Oliynykova No. 66. Pridankina had a very strong run through French Open qualifying. She won three matches and won six of the seven sets she played in those matches. One of her wins in qualifying came over Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva, who is ranked just outside the top 100, over 100 spots higher than Pridankina. Oliynykova lost to Marie Bouzkova in Strasbourg last week, but before that loss, she beat Yulia Putintseva and Alexandra Eala, two solid wins.
Best Bet to Make
Oliynykova should win the match, but what kind of price will you get, and what kind of bet should you make? Oliynykova moneyline doesn’t offer much of a price. You could get tremendous value if you are sold on the idea that Oliynykova is a much better player, which the world rankings reflect. Oliynykova beating Alexandra Eala, who is a top-50 player, was a really good win, and it offers enough support to the idea that Oliynykova is ready to win this match comfortably.
That being said, betting on Oliynykova winning 2:0 is a value bet for sure.

Guo – Kessler: Time 5:00 EST
H2H: 0–0
Hanyu Guo faces McCartney Kessler. Guo is ranked World No. 168, Kessler No. 47. Guo has played a lot of challengers in recent weeks. She is 3-2 in her last five matches. Kessler is 2-3 in her last five matches, but that series of five matches includes the Rome main draw, which featured a higher level of competition than anything Guo has recently dealt with. Guo has played more matches over the past few weeks than Kessler has, so Guo probably has more rhythm and flow. However, Kessler did not overplay this clay season and might be physically fresher. It’s an interesting test of the rest versus rust question for two tennis players.
Best Bet to Make
The quality of competition Kessler has faced in recent weeks is stronger than what Guo has competed against. Even though Kessler’s recent record is not that good, she has played in tougher tournaments. She is ranked 121 spots higher than Guo and should offer a level of skill that Guo will struggle with. Kessler should be able to win this match convincingly. You will get good value if that happens.
That being said, betting on Kessler winning 2:0 is a value bet for sure.

Ruzic – Krueger: Time 5:00 EST

Antonia Ruzic faces Ashlyn Krueger. This is not an easy match to call. Ruzic is ranked World No. 61, Krueger No. 107, but Ruzic is not playing like a player who is ranked 46 spots higher. She is 2-5 in her last seven matches, and that 2-5 record is also Ruzic’s overall clay match record for 2026. She is not in good form. Krueger is not much better at 3-4 in her last seven matches. Krueger’s four recent losses include some defeats to other players who have been struggling, such as Sofia Kenin. Neither player is riding a wave of confidence going into this match.
Best Bet to Make
When you have two struggling players who do not inspire trust, the over 2.5 sets bet, in which you essentially bet on the match going three sets regardless of the winner, is the play to make. This is the kind of match which fits that play. You wouldn’t want to bet on the Ruzic moneyline for sure, and Krueger is not in good enough form to be trusted with a straight-set bet. Krueger moneyline doesn’t offer enough of a price to justify a bet in that direction. Over 2.5 sets is the play.
That being said, betting on over 2.5 sets is a value bet for sure.
