The WTA French Open action continues on Monday. The 2026 edition of Roland Garros goes into the second day of first-round competition. The first round started on Sunday and will end on Tuesday, as the field goes from 128 down to 64. There are so many matches and stories to keep track of. Which top seeds are in danger? Which floaters in the draw will begin to pick up momentum, which could flow into the rest of the tournament? These and other interesting questions will soon be answered. LWOS has our best bets for three matches on Monday. Post your best bets and thoughts in the comments.

WTA French Open

Paolini – Yastremska: Time 5:00 EST

H2H: 6-1

Jasmine Paolini faces Dayana Yastremska. Jasmine Paolini has had a tough 2026 season. She has fallen out of the top 10. She lost early in Rome when defending her title there, causing a big loss of points which sent her tumbling downward in the rankings. Dayana Yastremska is on a five-match winning streak, but those five wins came at the WTA 125 event in Parma. Before that run, Yastremska lost the only matches she played in Madrid and Rome, so there’s a real question about whether Yastremska’s success in Parma can flow into this match against a player who, despite struggling, is still in the WTA top 15.

Best Bet to Make

Paolini has struggled, but Yastremska has not done well against top-level opponents in recent months. Yastremska can be dangerous when everything is going right for her. Everything went right for her in Parma, but that was a small tournament which isn’t the same as playing a top-15 player at a major tournament. The Paolini moneyline price isn’t spectacular, but it’s decent enough, given that Paolini looks like the obviously superior player and the one who should win. The fact that Paolini has a massive 6-1 head-to-head advantage makes it even easier to trust the Italian in this match.

That being said, betting on Paolini winning is a value bet for sure.

Samsonova – Teichmann: Time 5:00 EST

H2H: 0–2

Liudmila Samsonova faces Jil Belen Teichmann. Samsonova is a top-25 player in the world rankings while Teichmann is just outside the top 200. Samsonova’s ranking is relatively high, but she isn’t playing elite tennis. She isn’t terrible, but she isn’t imposing, either. She made the third round of Madrid and Rome. That’s the Round of 32, so Samsonova is at least playing up to her ranking, but she isn’t playing above it, either. Teichmann made a recent run to the Rabat semifinals this past week. She did not get out of the Rome qualifying rounds and did not play in Madrid.

Best Bet to Make

Teichmann has played lower-level competition compared to Samsonova. Does a run to the Rabat semifinals mean Teichmann is ready to beat a top-25 player at a major tournament? It’s hard to put that much stock in one small tournament right before the French Open. Samsonova isn’t playing the best tennis of her career, but she is playing decent tennis, getting to the Round of 32 in Madrid and Rome. That shows she’s better than Teichmann and will represent a challenge her opponent won’t be able to solve. Samsonova should be able to win the match comfortably.

That being said, betting on Samsonova winning 2:0 is a value bet for sure.

Kasatkina – Sonmez: Time 5:00 EST

H2H: 0–0

Daria Kasatkina plays Zeynep Sonmez in a highly interesting match. The two players are separated by three spots in the WTA rankings (Kasatkina 62, Sonmez 59). They both have winning records in their last nine matches. Kasatkina won two qualifying matches in Strasbourg last week and then went to the quarterfinals in the main draw. Before that, she won the La Bisbal WTA 125 tournament. Sonmez is 6-3 in her last nine matches, but she hasn’t played since Rome, choosing to rest instead of adding matches to her schedule.

Best Bet to Make

These two players have won more than they have lost in recent weeks, but there are questions attached to these wins. Kasatkina won at two smaller tournaments. Sonmez won a few of her matches over the past month in the qualifying rounds of Stuttgart. She did a little more in Madrid and Rome than Kasatkina did, however, so she should at least be able to win a set here. She might not win outright, but she should keep this match close. That’s where you should bet this match.

That being said, betting on Sonmez +1.5 sets is a value bet for sure.
