Pliskova – Bouzas Maneiro: Time 8:00 EST
H2H: 0-0
Karolina Pliskova will take on Jessica Bouzas Maneiro for the first time in her career. Pliskova is mainly a hardcourt player, but clay is her second-best surface, followed by indoors. Bouzas Maneiro is a clay specialist, with hardcourt coming in second. Bouzas Maneiro is not having a great year. In fact, she’s only managed five total wins and has yet to win more than one match in any tournament. Pliskova is coming off two straight quarterfinal appearances on clay, and both her quarterfinal losses were extremely competitive. She’s just playing better than Bouzas Maneiro at this time.
Best Bet to Make
It should not come as any surprise that Pliskova is the favorite going into this match. The books have her as about a one-point favorite on average. There are a couple of ways to approach this match. One of them is taking a game spread. You can get Pliskova -3 games for 1.86 on 1xBet. Your other option is taking Pliskova 2:0 at 2.38 on Bet365. I think you can go either way, but the correct score bet brings home a better return.
That being said, betting on Pliskova winning 2:0 is a value bet for sure.

McNally – Kasatkina: Time 8:00 EST
H2H: 0-1
Caty McNally enters this match with an overall record just above .500 by one game. While she hasn’t had any standout performances, she has definitely been a steady hand in the early rounds of most tournaments. McNally isn’t as strong on clay as Darya Kasatkina, but she’s capable. Kasatkina is coming off a tournament title at WTA La Bisbal, beating Tamara Korpatsch in three sets. That was her first tournament title since 2024, so she’s going to be feeling pretty good entering Rome.

Best Bet to Make
As expected, Kasatkina is the favorite on the books coming into this match. It’s a very close line, but Kasatkina averages about .2-points better than McNally. McNally is coming off a loss to Marta Kostyuk in Madrid, but she was playing a higher level of competition in her tournament, for sure. Even with all of that said, I do like the call of picking Kasatkina, but I think it would be wise to play this one safe and stick to straight-up bets. At 1.85 on a few sites, you’ll draw a solid enough return if you play it right.
That being said, betting on Kasatkina winning is a value bet for sure.

Cocciaretto – Kraus: Time 10:00 EST
H2H: 0-0
Elisabetta Cocciaretto vs Sinja Kraus is one of the better matches flying under the radar in the first round at WTA Rome. Cocciaretto is a clay specialist with five total WTA titles in her career. She has three clay crowns and two on a hardcourt. That said, she took home her first 2026 title on a hardcourt at WTA Hobart in January. She beat every opponent but one in straight sets. Sinja Kraus has already made two finals in 2026, but she lost both in straight sets. Kraus took home five titles in 2025, though only one was a WTA event.
Best Bet to Make
Cocciaretto is a pretty solid favorite on the books. It’s funny because Kraus definitely has way more experience on clay than Cocciaretto, but the vast majority of it was at the ITF level. Making it even more interesting is the fact that most of Cocciaretto’s wins this year came on a hardcourt. She’s struggled to get it going on her preferred surface. This information suggests keeping it close is the right strategy here. The Italian likely has enough experience and skill to fend off the young upstart, but count on the Austrian to keep her working for it.
That being said, betting on Cocciaretto -3 games is a value bet for sure.
