Coco Gauff French Open

WTA Stuttgart Quarterfinal Predictions Including Coco Gauff vs Karolina Muchova

The quarterfinals are set at the WTA Porsche Grand Tennis Prix in Stuttgart, and the lineup is full of fantastic players. All the top seeds are safely through, but who will advance to the semifinals? Will Coco Gauff extend her win streak against Karolina Muchova, or will the Czech player fight back and land her first blow? As always, we at LWOT predict all the matches.

WTA Stuttgart Quarterfinal Predictions

Elina Svitolina vs Linda Noskova

Head-to-Head: Svitolina 0-2 Noskova

#4 seed Elina Svitolina defeated Germany’s Eva Lys in the second round, losing just one game in the process. Lys couldn’t put together a single good game and was outplayed in every department by the Ukrainian. Linda Noskova will be a much tougher opponent for Svitolina, as Noskova has defeated her previously and has more weapons than Lys. Noskova’s serve alone will help her be more competitive. However, I think Svitolina will be up for this match and bring her best tennis.
Prediction: Svitolina in 3

Iga Swiatek vs Mirra Andreeva

Head-to-Head: Swiatek 1-2 Andreeva

Two-time champion Iga Swiatek is in her fifth consecutive quarterfinal at this tournament. It was Swiatek’s first match of the clay season, and she looked in control for the most part against Laura Siegemund. Mirra Andreeva would be a much tougher matchup for the Polish player, as the teenager has the head-to-head advantage. However, all their previous meetings have been on hard courts, and on clay, I will favour Swiatek to come out on top.
Prediction: Swiatek in 3

Elena Rybakina vs Leylah Fernandez/Zeynep Sonmez

Head-to-Head:

Top seed Elena Rybakina didn’t face a break point in her win over Diana Shnaider in the second round. Rybakina has not won a title since winning the Australian Open, and will be looking to lift the trophy for the second time at this event. She is more comfortable on indoor clay than on outdoor, making her more dangerous this week. I have her winning against either player comfortably.
Prediction: Rybakina in 2

Coco Gauff vs Karolina Muchova

Head-to-Head: Gauff 6-0 Muchova

Coco Gauff made a huge comeback from a double break down in the first set against Liudmila Samsonova and then won the second set easily. She is in her third Stuttgart quarterfinal and will look to advance further for the first time. Karolina Muchova has been in better form this season than Gauff, but she still struggled to make it competitive when they met in Miami. This is their first meeting outside of hard courts, so Muchova might make some inroads, but the mental advantage Gauff has is significant.
Prediction: Gauff in 3
