WTA Ostrava Day 3 Predictions Including Alycia Parks vs Elina Avanesyan

First-round matches will conclude alongside the start of second-round action on day three at the WTA Ostrava Open on what should be an entertaining day in Czechia. As ever, we here at LWOT will be offering our predictions for every match, including Caty McNally vs Tereza Martincova, but who will advance?

WTA Ostrava Day 3 Predictions

Sinja Kraus vs Viktorija Golubic

Head-to-head: Kraus 1-0 Golubic

After a strong finish in 2025, when she won 11 of her last 14 matches, Viktorija Golubic is still chasing her first win of the 2026 season. The Swiss was involved in a couple of three-setters that both went against her. And ending her winless start isn’t as straightforward. Sinja Kraus has proven she can handle this matchup (she defeated Golubic in Linz last year) and builds into points with more intent than Golubic. Kraus might just have the edge here.

Prediction: Kraus in 3

Tatjana Maria vs Katie Volynets

Head-to-head: Volynet 2-1 Maria

This has been a complicated start to the season for Tatjana Maria, who had an underwhelming summer in Australia. The German has often relied on results in the lower tiers to regain her confidence, but a trip to Manila this past week didn’t quite yield a deep run. Katie Volynets was in exceptional form in the first round, where she dismantled Klimovicova 6-2 6-1. With Maria yet to find her rhythm this season, Volynets’ flatter backhand could hold up against the veteran’s crafty game.

Prediction: Volynets in 2

Alycia Parks vs Elina Avanesyan

Head-to-head: first meeting

Alycia Parks’ 7-6 6-2 victory over Julia Grabher in the opening round was only her third win in four tournaments this season. However, the American’s level at the Australian Open was encouraging despite coming up short against Karolina Muchova. Avanesyan is coming off a very complicated season, which was marred by injuries, and she only played 18 times in 2025. While the Armenian opened her 2026 account with a hard-earned three-set win against Uchijima, she faces a stern test against Parks, whose game is tailor-made for the indoor stage in Ostrava.

Prediction: Parks in 2
