The Australian Open may have just ended, but WTA tennis continues around the world, including a WTA 250 event in Ostrava, Czech Republic. WTA Ostrava Day 2 Predictions
Nikola Bartunkova vs Anna Blinkova
Head-to-Head: first meeting
Bartunkova will have plenty of local support, and she has shown flashes of her potential on hard courts over the past year. However, this matchup asks her to deal with a player who is far more comfortable grinding through tricky indoor conditions. Blinkova’s compact game and ability to redirect pace suit Ostrava’s courts well, and she tends to stay solid when rallies stretch. Bartunkova however is coming off a career-defining run to the Round of 16 at the Australian Open, and the confidence gained from that breakthrough, coupled with home support, should imbue her with the belief to play freely and take the match on her terms.

Brenda Fruhvirtova vs Fiona Ferro
Head-to-Head: first meeting
This is an interesting contrast between youth and experience. Fruhvirtova is still finding her rhythm after an up-and-down spell, but indoor hard courts remain one of her better environments, where her timing and clean ball-striking can really shine. Ferro, meanwhile, is continuing her comeback and has looked more comfortable in longer exchanges, though her best results have traditionally come on slower surfaces. If Ferro can keep the points short and dictate with her first strike tennis, she should be able to edge this matchup.

Alycia Parks vs Julia Grabher
Head-to-Head: Parks 1–0 Grabher
Parks brings obvious power into this contest, especially on serve, and indoor conditions only enhance that part of her game. When she’s landing a high first-serve percentage, she becomes very difficult to contain. Grabher is a smart competitor who thrives on forcing errors and extending rallies, but the faster court may limit her ability to draw Parks into longer points. If Parks stays patient and avoids over-pressing on return games, her serve and baseline aggression should give her the edge.
