United Cup Quarterfinal Predictions

Coco Gauff/Christian Harrison vs Maria Sakkari/Stefanos Tsitsipas

Head-to-Head: first meeting

Coco Gauff and Christian Harrison have paired up for the first time together at this United Cup, and they have played fantastically so far, winning 4 out of 4 sets. However, Maria Sakkari and Stefanos Tsitsipas have a long history between them and have played together a lot more than their opponents. Gauff’s second serve can be vulnerable, and the Greek duo will look to put it under pressure. This should be close, but I am going with Sakkari and Tsitsipas.
Prediction: Sakkari/Tsitsipas in 3

Coco Gauff vs Maria Sakkari

Head-to-Head: Gauff 5-5 Sakkari

This should be a blockbuster match as these two have played 10 times before and know each other’s game extremely well. Coco Gauff lost her first-ever match at the United Cup as she was stunned by Jessica Bouzas Maneiro of Spain. It was a shaky performance from the American star as she made 14 double faults and won just 19% of her second serve points. Maria Sakkari comes into this match having won both her matches, including a big win over Emma Raducanu, whom she had never beaten before. Sakkari has won just one of her last five matches against Gauff, but she will like her chances if she can play at her best and force Gauff into making errors.
Prediction: Sakkari in 3

Taylor Fritz vs Stefanos Tsitsipas

Head-to-Head: Fritz 2-3 Tsitsipas

Taylor Fritz registered his first win of the season as he battled past Jaume Munar in a brilliant match. Fritz has been dealing with an ongoing knee issue, which has hindered his level. However, his fighting spirit is as strong as ever, and he must like his chances against Stefanos Tsitsipas, who has some holes in his game that Fritz may target. Tsitsipas has not lost a match so far, but Fritz is a significant step up in level.
Prediction: Fritz in 3
