Those in the Bjorn Bjorg group will play their second ATP Finals matches on Day 4. Ben Shelton is scheduled to face Felix Auger-Aliassime before defending champion Jannik Sinner’s match against Alexander Zverev. Which players do you think are most likely to get crucial victories?

Ben Shelton vs Felix Auger-Aliassime
Head-to-head: Auger-Aliassime 1-0 Shelton
Both players need a win after losing their opening matches. Neither player created a single break point in their respective defeats against Zverev and Sinner. There are unlikely to be many break chances in this contest either. Shelton and Auger-Aliassime possess two of the best serves in tennis, and the lively conditions in Turin make it even more challenging to create opportunities on return.
Auger-Aliassime comprehensively won their only previous meeting at the 2024 French Open. The Canadian’s best chance of victory against almost all players is on an indoor hard court. Seven of his eight titles have come in those conditions, most recently at last month’s 2025, and he also reached the Rolex Paris Masters’ final just over a week ago.
This could go either way and will likely be decided by fine margins. Auger-Aliasimme’s indoor record and Shelton’s poor returning against Zverev make me back the 25-year-old, but Shelton triumphing would not be surprising.

Jannik Sinner vs Alexander Zverev
Head-to-head: Sinner 5-4 Zverev
Zverev played Sinner at his previous two tournaments. The Italian narrowly prevailed in the Vienna Open final before thrashing the world No. 3 6-0 6-1 in Paris. However, Zverev was physically struggling in that encounter after a brutal battle with Daniil Medvedev the previous day. He will almost certainly be more competitive than that in Turin.
Although the head-to-head is close, Sinner has won their previous four meetings. The World No. 1’s improved focus and tolerance in lengthy exchanges since the start of 2024 is the most significant reason for that. Zverev must play aggressively, as he did in Vienna, to have a realistic chance of winning at the ATP Finals.
An assertive approach also has to be combined with excellent serving by Zverev. Entirely writing off someone as capable as the German would be wrong, and he can challenge Sinner if he plays his best. Still, a win for the home favorite is the most likely outcome.
