WTA Wuhan Semifinal Predictions Including Aryna Sabalenka vs Jessica Pegula

The semifinals are set at the WTA Wuhan Open, and fans have two amazing matches to look forward to. The three-time defending champion and world No.1, Aryna Sabalenka, is the favorite, but Jessica Pegula will be aiming to end her streak. As always, we at LWOT will offer predictions for both matches. But who will advance to the finals?

WTA Wuhan Semifinal Predictions

Coco Gauff vs Jasmine Paolini

Head-to-Head: Gauff 2-3 Paolini

Coco Gauff played another solid match to put an end to Laura Siegemund’s resurgence. Gauff’s side of the draw opened up, and she cruised to the semifinals for the second consecutive year. She will be looking to advance to her first final here, but she must first pass a stern test. Jasmine Paolini has defeated Gauff in some big matches this season and will arrive in this one on the back of upsetting Iga Swiatek.

Paolini took Swiatek by surprise with how aggressively she played, and Gauff should be at her best to tackle the game of the Italian. The #3 seed will be looking for revenge as she has already lost three times to Paolini this season and will be desperate not to lose another. Gauff will rely heavily on her serve, and if she can serve well, she will have an advantage in rallies. If the serve is shaky, I have Paolini winning this.
Prediction: Paolini in 3

Aryna Sabalenka vs Jessica Pegula

Head-to-Head: Sabalenka 8-2 Pegula

World No.1 Aryna Sabalenka played a great match from start to finish to overcome Elena Rybakina in the quarterfinals. Sabalenka defeated Rybakina in straight sets for the first time, and her game looks primed to win another title here. Jessica Pegula continued her three-set streak, as she came back from a set down to beat Katerina Siniakova. Pegula has demonstrated a lot of determination and clutchness in the last two weeks. However, her game is currently not at the level required to beat Sabalenka.
Prediction: Sabalenka in 3
