ATP Toronto Day 1 Predictions Including Sebastian Ofner vs Reilly Opelka

Sunday action is in the cards for the National Bank Open, ATP Toronto Masters 1000. Here is your look at all the action. We have predictions for every day 1 match in Toronto.

Adam Walton vs Benjamin Bonzi

Adam Walton is at a career high ranking after reaching the semis in Los Cabos, a late bloomer on the ATP Tour, he’s into the top 100 now and 8-11 at tour level this year, along with a Challenger final and a title at that level. Bonzi at just 6-13 on the year really wants to find some form on hard courts this summer. His result in Washington was a first round exit, and Walton looks well positioned to hand Bonzi a second consecutive opening match defeat. Prediction: Walton in 2

Nicolas Arseneault vs Valentin Royer

The teenage wild card Arseneault is making his ATP main draw debut this is a big stage for him against the qualifier Royer who is back nearing the top 100. Royer’s Challenger Tour record is fantastic, he has reached two finals and won two more titles at that level, but they all came on clay. Arseneault will hope the surface favors him, but Royer should still have enough game to prevail.  Prediction: Royer in 3

Sebastian Ofner vs Reilly Opelka

With a record of 9-8 on the season, Ofner is trying to play his way back into the top 100. He’s a credible all surface player, while Opelka at #74 in the world is 18-16 on the season overall, and has mostly played at the ATP level. Opelka comes off a tough loss to Daniil Medvedev in the second round of D.C., with his serve he looks like the favorite here. Prediction: Opelka in 2

Miomir Kecmanovic vs Quentin Halys

Kecmanovic won a hard court title this year but is looking to bounce back from an opening match loss in D.C., Halys is just 12-19 on the season and has a worse record than his opponent. With both players suffering the same fate last week, neither can be said to be in good form, but Kecmanovic has been playing better on the season. Prediction: Kecmanovic in 2
