WTA Prague Day 2 Predictions Including Nuria Parrizas-Diaz vs Leolia Jeanjean

The second day in Prague will see an all-Czech affair between Lucie Havlickova vs Alena Kovackova, among several other matches slated for the day. As always, we offer our predictions on who will advance to the next round. Who do you think will win?

WTA Prague Day 2 Predictions

Lucie Havlickova vs Alena Kovackova

Head–to–Head: First Meeting

Lucie Havlickova received a wild card to participate in the Prague Open this week as she continues her comeback from a major injury that sidelined her for almost a year. She will face another young Czech player, Alena Kovackova. Kovackova, who came through the qualifying rounds with two solid wins over Arina Rodionova and Lucrezia Stefanini, is set to make her debut at the Tour level.

Both players are in the process of establishing themselves in the sport, making it challenging to predict a winner. However, if she can hold her nerves, the teenager should make something of her debut if she can replicate her performances in the qualifiers.
Prediction: Kovackova in 3

Jessika Ponchet vs Nina Stojanovic

Head–to–Head: First Meeting

A quite intriguing match between two players–who are just a spot apart in rankings, the same age, enter as lucky losers, haven’t lost consecutive matches in months, and have almost the same stats this year–whoare meeting for the first time. This is as evenly matched as a match can be, but we will predict that the pendulum will swing to the Frenchwoman to edge a potentially lengthy and gritty contest.
Prediction: Ponchet in 3

Nuria Parrizas-Diaz vs Leolia Jeanjean

Head–to–Head: Parrizas-Diaz 1 vs 0 Jeanjean

There is little to separate the two players, and no distinct favorite. Parrizas-Diaz is returning from an injury and is still finding it difficult to regain her form in the early stages, yet Jeanjean has not provided sufficient evidence in her latest matches to indicate that she will take advantage immediately. Both haven’t been tested on hard courts since March; still, the Spaniard has more pedigree on the surface.
Prediction: Parrizas-Diaz in 3
