Carlos Alcaraz in action at Wimbledon.

Wimbledon Men’s Quarterfinal Predictions Including Carlos Alcaraz vs Cameron Norrie

We have two blockbuster men’s quarterfinal matches in store at Wimbledon on Tuesday. World #2 and two-time defending champion Carlos Alcaraz will take on the last Brit standing, Cameron Norrie. The crowd should be absolutely electric for this one. And we also have Taylor Fritz, the only American man to reach a Major final in 15 years, as he continues his strong form. How will he fare against Karen Khachanov? As always, our writers share their thoughts on both matches. Predicting these matchups are Ilemona Onekutu, Jordan Reynolds, Manuel Traquete, Shane Black, and Yesh Ginsburg. Who do you think will win?

Wimbledon Men’s Quarterfinal Predictions

Taylor Fritz vs Karen Khachanov

Ilemona:
Taylor Fritz had a kinder path after Jordan Thompson’s injury retirement saved his legs, but Khachanov was equally as relentless, dismantling Majchrzak in straights. History leans Khachanov (2-0 H2H), but that was five years ago, and Fritz’s improved game could flip the script if his serve fires. Expect brutal baseline rallies that could swing either way.
Prediction: Fritz in 5

Jordan:
Each set could come down to a few points between two powerful hitters and servers. In pressure moments, I trust Fritz slightly more. He is usually calm regardless of the score, and that talent might help him land more big shots on the most important points.
Prediction: Fritz in 4

Manuel:
Fritz is the higher ranked and has in recent years surpassed Khachanov, but the latter is still a huge threat on his day and tends to raise his level in Slams. It should be a very close contest here, one that will go down to execution in the big points.
Prediction: Khachanov in 5

Shane:
After navigating arguably the toughest first week of the men’s draw, Fritz was gifted a second-set retirement from Jordan Thompson in the Round of 16. If there was any questioning the toll his grass season was having on his body, that should ease the concerns. This will be a high-octane match highlighted by first-strike tennis. The American is in too good of form and will sense a tremendous opportunity to set up a semifinal clash with the two-time defending champion.
Prediction: Fritz in 4

Yesh:
Fritz reached his first Grand Slam final last year, and he is putting himself in position to replicate that. Of course, reaching the final likely means beating Alcaraz. But he does everything just a little bit better than Khachanov does, which should make him the heavy favorite in this matchup.
Prediction: Fritz in 3

Carlos Alcaraz vs Cameron Norrie

Ilemona:
Carlos Alcaraz is riding high after smoothly recovering from a slow start to beat Rublev in four sets, extending his Wimbledon streak to 18 straight wins. Norrie’s marathon five-setter against Jarry, where he saved critical break points and fed off home-crowd energy, shows he’s battling like it’s his last stand. Though Alcaraz leads their overall matchups 4-2, they’ve never faced each other on grass, and Norrie’s lefty grit could squeeze out a set if fatigue doesn’t catch him first. Expect fireworks if Norrie’s relentless defense forces Alcaraz into extra swings early on.
Prediction: Alcaraz in 4

Jordan:
Norrie played exceptionally to beat Nicolas Jarry in five sets. The Chilean could not have performed much better, and Norrie showed superb focus and discipline to not get broken all match. But Alcaraz is just on another level. He has improved with each match, and I do not think the Briton has enough to hurt him.
Prediction: Alcaraz in 3

Manuel:
Norrie will be very happy to have made the quarterfinals here, but he faces a daunting task against the two time defending champion. Alcaraz can be a bit inconsistent and lose focus at time, so Norrie can maybe take a set if things go well for him but it would be arguably the biggest upset of the year if he actually won the match.
Prediction: Alcaraz in 3

Shane:
Norrie’s resurgence in front of the British crowd has been fun to watch. His unorthodox style of play can trouble top opponents, including in past matches against Alcaraz. However, the No. 2 seed is striking the ball too well to fall to Norrie. Alcaraz in three tight sets.
Prediction: Alcaraz in 3

Yesh:
It would be a Wimbledon story for the ages if Norrie could win this match. Alcaraz has looked vulnerable at times this tournament, but ultimately the Brit just doesn’t have a weapon that can beat Alcaraz over the course of three-plus hours.
Prediction: Alcaraz in 3
