The action at the WTA Wimbledon has progressed to the round of 16. Here are my picks for those matches. Tell me if you agree with my best bets in the comment section. I’m trying something a little different here, and your input helps.
WTA Wimbledon Open
Alexandrova – Bencic: Time 12:00
H2H: 4-4
Ekaterina Alexandrova and Belinda Bencic are certified rivals at this point in their careers. This will be their ninth overall meeting, and it’s tied at 4-4, with Alexandrova taking the most recent match, which took place on June 23rd in Bad Homburg. The straight-set victory was recent enough that it’s included in Alexandrova’s ten most recent matches. She’s 8-2 during that time, Bencic is 6-4. One of these women is going to advance further into Wimbledon than they ever have before, as their previous best is a round-of-16 finish each.
Best Bet to Make
It shouldn’t be any big surprise that Alexandrova is the favorite in this match by a decent margin. She’s generally playing much better this season than Bencic. They both have one tournament victory this year, but where Bencic’s next highest finish is a single quarterfinal, Alexandrova has several semifinals. She’s just playing more consistently, and when she does lose, it’s often to a higher-ranked player, but not exclusively. The icing on the cake for me is that Alexandrova is 46-21 on grass overall, and she’s 8-2 this year. Bencic is 59-27, but she’s only 3-1 on the year.
That being said, winning is a value bet for sure.

Swiatek – Tauson: Time 12:00
H2H: 2-0
Iga Swiatek is on the right kind of roll right now to potentially secure her first Wimbledon title, but first, she must go through Clara Tauson. Tauson already has a tournament victory this year at Auckland, but nothing since then. Wimbledon is the first time Tauson has advanced past the third round in a Major in 2025. For her part, Swiatek has reached the semifinals of every Major in 2025 thus far.

Best Bet to Make
It’s no surprise that Swiatek is the favorite in this match. You’re not going to find any action worth placing on a straight-up win. She’s only drawing 1.31 at her best. If you stroll over to the correct score counter, though, you find something a bit interesting. Bet365 is offering 1.83 on Swiatek taking this match in straight sets. If you look at the surrounding numbers and the values being offered the other way, you can draw a pretty straight line to the fact that this is the line the bookmakers see as being the closest to the actual results.
That being said, Swiatek winning is a value bet for sure.
Value bet/ the best odds: Swiatek winning 2:0 @1.83 @Bet365
Andreeva – Navarro: Time 12:00
H2H: 1-0
Mirra Andreeva and Emma Navarro have only played once before, back in 2024 at the Cincinnati WTA. Andreeva took that match in straight sets. Navarro won a total of four games that day. Andreeva already has two tournament victories on the year, and Navarro has one. It’s funny because the tournament Navarro won was sandwiched between the two tournaments won by Andreeva.
Best Bet to Make
Andreeva is starting to come around on grass after two bad tournaments, while Navarro is starting to find her groove after struggling during the clay season. There’s also a chance that it’s the grass season lending Navarro some much-needed improvements. While both players are turning things toward the positive, I think the momentum behind Andreeva has a bit more substance to it. Those deeper runs and bigger matches are bound to pay off as training for moments like this. Expect Andreeva to work her backhand and take every opportunity Navarro gives her to move her all over the court and wear her out. I like Andreeva to win two sets to nil.
That being said, Andreeva winning is a value bet for sure.
