At least four British teenagers will play in the main draw of the 2025 Wimbledon Championships after receiving wild cards.
Players are already ramping up their preparations on grass in different warm-up tournaments in Germany and England. With less than two weeks until the first ball is struck at the All-England Club, the list of wild card entrants was one of the most anticipated in this year’s tournament, and Wimbledon has finalized it (one more men’s wild card will be named in the coming days).
The obvious surprise among tennis fans is the lack of international representation, with 14 of the 15 singles wild cards granted to British players. Wimbledon, however, stated in its announcement that it banked on increased British interest. So, on that note, who are the four teenagers guaranteed a five-figure payday for competing at Wimbledon?
Four British Teenagers Receive 2025 Wimbledon Wild Cards
The lone British teenager who will feature in the men’s singles is Henry Searle. The 19-year-old hails from Wolverhampton and is a towering presence on the court, standing at 1.93m. Searle is ranked outside the Top 400 on the senior tour. He was the 2023 Wimbledon junior champion.
The other three will compete in the women’s singles. The first is the youngest of them. 16-year-old Hannah Klugman is expected to be the youngest player in this year’s edition. Klugman resides in Wimbledon Village, and it was at the Westside Club, situated at the heart of Wimbledon, where she cut her teeth in the sport. Klugman is coming off a runner-up finish at the 2025 French Open juniors.
Joining Klugman will be Mika Stojsavljevic, who won the girls’ singles title at the 2024 US Open. Stojsavljevic, who is also 16 but two months older than Klugman, made her WTA debut in Tokyo last season. She competed in Wimbledon qualifying last year as a wild card but lost in the opening round.
The last of this batch is 17-year-old Mingge Xu. She has a career-high WTA ranking of No. 350. Her best Grand Slam result at junior level was reaching the 2024 Wimbledon doubles final alongside Stojsavljevic.
