Ben Shelton US Open

ATP Stuttgart Semifinal Predictions Including Alexander Zverev vs Ben Shelton

The semifinals are set at the 2025 ATP BOSS Open in Stuttgart, and all four top seeds have advanced without dropping a set. This makes for a grand final two days of the tournament, and every player will like their chances to lift the trophy. As always, we at LWOT will offer predictions for both the semifinal matches, but which two players will advance to the finals?

ATP Stuttgart Semifinal Predictions

Taylor Fritz vs Felix Auger-Aliassime

Head-to-Head: Fritz 2-1 Auger-Aliassime

World No. 7 Taylor Fritz played another solid match against Marton Fucsovics to book his spot in his first-ever semifinals at the BOSS Open. Fritz has served 24 aces in four sets played this week and is yet to be broken. It has been a tough year for the American, but these wins are great for his confidence, and if he continues to serve well, he will be the favourite to reach the final.

Felix Auger-Aliassime showed that experience has no substitute as he overcame the talented Justin Engel in two tight sets. The Canadian locked in when he needed to and avoided giving cheap errors. Fritz and Auger-Aliassime have always played close matches, and I reckon this would be the same. Both players rely on their big serves, but Auger-Aliassime is more prone to errors, and one or two points can decide the outcome of a set in this match. I am going with the second seed.
Prediction: Fritz in 3

Alexander Zverev vs Ben Shelton

Head-to-Head: Zverev 2-0 Shelton

Top seed Alexander Zverev showed a significant step-up in level over his first match as he defeated Brandon Nakashima in straight sets. Zverev was reading Nakashima’s serve well and returned brilliantly. His forehand also looked better, and he only made one double fault as compared to four against Corentin Moutet. He will face a familiar opponent in the semifinals, against whom he has a perfect record.

Ben Shelton broke at the right time in both sets to defeat Jiri Lehecka. It was a masterclass in serving from the American player as he served 18 aces and did not face a single break point. Shelton will play in his first semifinal on grass and will be eager to get the first win against Zverev. Shelton has the tools to trouble Zverev on this surface, as he can create angles on his shots. This match will most likely be decided in tiebreaks, and I have Shelton as a slight favourite.
Prediction: Shelton in 3
