ATP Monte Carlo Day 3 Predictions Including Stefanos Tsitsipas vs Jordan Thompson

Day 3 of the ATP Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters features 13 matches, and fans will have great tennis to watch all day. This article features defending champion Stefanos Tsitsipas, who will face Jordan Thompson. As always, we at LWOT will offer predictions for every match on the slate. But who will advance?

ATP Monte Carlo Day 3 Predictions

Flavio Cobolli vs Dusan Lajovic

Head-to-Head: Cobolli 0-1 Lajovic

Flavio Cobolli was having a horrible season on hard courts but he turned into a completely different player last week in Bucharest to win his first ATP title. This will give lots of confidence to the Italian and he will look to continue the momentum in Monte Carlo. Dusan Lajovic is always a threat on clay, and he has already secured two strong wins in qualifying. Lajovic won in two close sets the last time these two met on clay, but given Cobolli’s form, I am giving him a slight edge.
Prediction: Cobolli in 3

Grigor Dimitrov vs Nicolas Jarry

Head-to-Head: Dimitrov 1-2 Jarry

Nicolas Jarry’s form started to dip by the end of last year’s European clay season and he has never looked like himself since that period. He has won just one match in his last five tournaments, and facing an in-form Grigor Dimitrov in the first round is far from ideal. Jarry has two wins against Dimitrov on clay, but he is far from that level right now. Clay is not Dimitrov’s best surface, but he is a two-time former semifinalist here and should get the win.
Prediction: Dimitrov in 3

Stefanos Tsitsipas vs Jordan Thompson

Head-to-Head: Tsitsipas 3-1 Thompson

Defending champion Stefanos Tsitsipas will begin his campaign against Jordan Thompson, who will be a difficult opponent for the Greek. Tsitsipas is the most decorated player at the Monte Carlo Masters in the draw with three titles and has played some good tennis recently. Clay brings the best out of Tsitsipas, and he would prefer to face Thompson here rather than on a fast, hard court. The Australian player had a great win in the first round, but I don’t like his chances here.
Prediction: Tsitsipas in 2
