WTA Charleston Open Best Bets Including Madison Keys vs Anna Kalinskaya

The second round of the Charleston Open will soon be underway. I look at some betting opportunities after previous bets have cashed out. Do you think I picked right this time? Have I been making you money? Let me know in the comments.

WTA Charleston Open

Keys – Kalinskaya: Time 16:00

H2H: 0-1

Madison Keys has had little problem dispatching her opposition in 2025. Of her ten most recent matches, the only losses for Keys were to the best in the world in Aryna Sabalenka and to an upstart Alexandra Eala at Indian Wells, who then pushed Pegula to a third set in the semifinals before falling to her. Alternatively, Anna Kalinskaya is 5-5 in her last ten, but 2-5 in her last seven.

Best Bet to Make

Madison Keys was more than happy to make a liar out of my suggestion that should could fall to McNally, so I’m here to double down on the disappointment because you don’t make money betting on the favorite unless you’re throwing down large sums of money. Should Kalinskaya upset keys, there’s enough value there to make you happy, and Keys isn’t that large of a favorite considering her dominance. The books have Keys winning, and I agree but I wanted to throw this out there for the upset-minded individual looking to take a flyer.

That being said, Kalinskaya winning is a value bet for sure.

Ostapenko – Collins: Time 16:00

H2H: 2-1

Jelena Ostapenko and Danielle Collins make for an interesting matchup. While Collins checks in with a higher singles ranking, Ostapenko has the head-to-head lead, 2-1. All of their matches have been played on a hardcourt, but Charleston is clay, and Ostapenko is considerably better on clay courts than is Collins. Ostapenko has a record of 105-55 on clay, while Collins is a much more modest 86-40. Ostapenko ought to be able to take this match.

The books have Collins winning, and I disagree. Not only is Ostapenko much more refined on clay courts, but she’s also had a deeper run more recently than Collins, having made the semifinal in Doha while Collins’ deepest run in her last ten is a Round of 16 in Miami. There’s also significant value in choosing Ostapenko, who is +120 at BetVictor.

That being said, Ostapenko winning is a value bet for sure.

Kasatkina – Kenin: Time 16:00

H2H: 3-3

It was extremely tough to pick the third bet. I legit went back and forth between two matches before settling on Darya Kasatkina vs Sofia Kenin. Kenin featured in my previous column and I didn’t want to return to her so soon, but there’s a rich history between her and Kasatkina that I felt was worth exploring, as you can really win with either player.

Best Bet to Make

The books see this as a draw; I tend to agree, and so does their match history. Whether you feel like placing offsetting bets or you have a suspicion one way or the other, you can make some money. It won’t be a ton of money, but it’s enough to come close to doubling your funds. Kasatkina sits at 1.95 and Kenin isn’t much further behind at 1.85, so that’s a minimum of $85 in your pocket, plus your original bet back.

That being said, Either Kasatkina or Kenin are value bets for sure.
