Stefanos Tsitsipas has won four of his last five matches. Last week in Doha, Medjedovic upset Stefanos in the opening round.
Stefanos won the opening round match against Sonego in straight sets this week in Dubai. He trailed 0-3 in tiebreak in the opening set, but successfully turned it around. Stefanos offered no breakpoints in the second set and easily closed out the match. In the quarterfinals, Tsitsipas won against Berrettini in three tight sets. Stefanos saved two consecutive breakpoints late in the deciding set, broke Matteo’s serve, and closed the match.
Today, in the semifinals, Stefanos won against Griekspoor in straight sets. He served well throughout the whole match, not offering any breakpoints. Tsitsipas broke Tallon’s serve once in each set, enough for a comfortable win. At the beginning of this week, Tsitsipas tested a new racquet, which may be why he picked up his form. The former world number 3 has played eleven times at the ATP 500 final but lost every time. Tomorrow, he will have a big chance against Felix to capture his maiden ATP 500 title. Stefanos has played two times in the final of the ATP 500 Dubai.
Felix Auger-Aliassime has won four of his last five matches. Last week in Doha, Felix reached the semifinals, losing against Rublev in three tight sets. A few weeks ago, Felix won the title in Montpellier, winning against Kovacevic in the final. At the beginning of the season, Felix won the title in Adelaide, winning against Korda in the final.
It is his second appearance in Dubai. In the opening round, Felix won against Bublik in three tight sets. He served well in the deciding set, not offering any breakpoints. Felix defeated Borges in three tight sets in the second round after losing the opening set 4-6. Once again, when it was most important in the deciding set, Auger served well and deservedly won. In the quarterfinals, Felix won once again in three tight sets. Cilic was exhausted in the deciding set, and Felix easily closed the match.
Today, in the semifinals, Felix defeated Halys in three tight sets. He lost the opening set 5-7. However, Felix once again turned the match around. In the second and third sets, Auger-Aliassime played great under pressure. In his debut campaign, 2023, Felix lost in the second round against Sonego in straight sets.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, Tsitsipas is the favorite in this matchup, and we agree. Stefanos played great this week. Stefanos defeated Sonego, Khachanov, Berrettini, and Griekspoor en route to the final. On the other hand, Felix had an easier draw, but he struggled in every match. He spent way more time on the court than Tsitsipas, and we expect him to be exhausted tomorrow. Tsitsipas is more experienced, and with his current form, we expect him to be a better player tomorrow and capture his first-ever ATP 500 title.
That being said, Tsitsipas winning is a value bet.
