Clément Chidekh vs Zizou Bergs
Head-to-head: Bergs 1-0 Chidekh
Clement Chidekh did well to qualify for the main draw at ATP Marseille, defeating two solid opponents in Martin Landaluce and Luca Van Assche despite coming into the tournament on a five-match losing streak. However, this is likely where his run comes to an end. Zizou Bergs has been steadily improving since last season, establishing himself as an ATP regular and posting an impressive 9-3 record so far in 2025. The two previously met in the Roland Garros qualifying stage in 2024, where Bergs completely dominated the Frenchman, dropping only two games. While that match was on clay, it is hard to see Chidekh overturning such a one-sided scoreline.
Prediction: Bergs in 2

Jan-Lennard Struff vs Manuel Guinard
Head-to-head: Struff 1-0 Guinard
Despite losing to Pierre-Hugues Herbert in the final round of qualifying, Manuel Guinard secured a spot in the main draw as a lucky loser following the withdrawals of Lucas Pouille and Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard. The Frenchman has never been at this best on hard courts, with most of his success coming on clay and whilst Jan-Lennard Struff has also struggled on hard courts since 2024, posting a disappointing 8-15 record last year, he is a simply a level above Guinard – probably in most conditions. Part of that is down to his serve that will be difficult for the Frenchman to counter. More concerning is that their only previous meeting also took place on indoor hard courts and Struff dominated to claim a 6-0 6-2 victory. The German may not be at his best, but he should have little trouble winning this match.
Prediction: Struff in 2

Alexander Bublik vs Richard Gasquet
Head-to-head: first meeting
This is without a doubt the match of the day, especially considering this is one of the last tournaments of Richard Gasquet’s career. An absolute legend of French tennis, he will have a passionate home crowd rooting for him. But will that be enough to beat Alexander Bublik on indoor hard courts? At this stage in Gasquet’s career, it likely depends on how motivated is Bublik to win. Given his lackluster effort in Montpellier, where he was the defending champion, it is hard to imagine him digging deep against both Gasquet and the crowd here. Richard, who looked pretty competitive against Griekspoor last week, has a strong chance of advancing to the second round.
Prediction: Gasquet in 3
