ATP Dallas Best Bets Including Tiafoe vs Nishioka

ATP 500 Dallas 1/8-Finals

Munar – Shelton: 06.02.2025 20:30 CEST
H2H: 0-1

Jaume Munar has won three of his last five matches. At the beginning of the season, Munar played in Hong Kong, reaching the semifinals. It is his first appearance in Dallas. Munar has never had any success with indoor hard courts. Being a Spaniard, Jaume had his biggest results on clay courts. In the opening round, he defeated Bu in straight sets. Around this time last year, Munar played in Montpellier, losing in the opening round against Martinez in straight sets.

Ben Shelton has won four of his last five matches. Two weeks ago in Melbourne, Ben reached the semifinals of the Australian Open, losing against Sinner in straight sets as we predicted. It is his second appearance in Dallas. Yesterday, in the opening round, Ben defeated Vukic in straight sets. He offered no breakpoints. In his debut campaign in 2024, Ben reached the semifinals, losing against Tommy Paul in straight sets.

Best Bet to Make

According to the bookies, Shelton is the favorite in this matchup, and we agree. As previously mentioned, Munar has never succeeded with indoor hard courts. On the other hand, Shelton thrives under these conditions. We expect him to dominate in this match and win easily.

That being said, Shelton covering the games handicap is a value bet.

Value bet/ the best odds: Ben Shelton -4.5 games handicap @1.80 @bet365

Tiafoe – Nishioka: 06.02.2025 19:00 CEST
H2H: 3-2

Frances Tiafoe has won three of his last five matches. So far this season, Tiafoe played only in Brisbane and the Australian Open. Two weeks ago in Melbourne, Frances lost against Marozsan in the second round of the Australian Open. In the opening round, Tiafoe won against Daniel in three sets. It is his fifth appearance in Dallas. He has never made it past the quarterfinals. Last season, Frances lost against Giron in the quarterfinals.

Yoshihito Nishioka has won four of his last five matches. Two weeks ago in Melbourne, Nishioka lost in the second round of the Australian Open against Alcaraz in straight sets, as we had predicted. Last week, as we predicted, Nishioka helped Japan win over Great Britain in the Davis Cup. Nishioka won both matches in straight sets and showed great tennis on the indoor hard court. Yesterday, in the opening round, Yoshihito won against Nakashima in straight sets, as we predicted. It is his fourth appearance in Dallas. Last season, Nishioka was stopped in the second round against Mannarino.

Best Bet to Make

According to the bookies, Tiafoe is the favorite in this matchup, but we disagree. Nishioka is in great form and has three consecutive wins on indoor hard courts. He won all three matches in straight sets and was dominant. On the other hand, Tiafoe has not had any remarkable results this season. The last time he had consecutive wins was last year at the US Open.

That being said, Nishioka winning is a value bet.
