ATP Rotterdam Day 4 Predictions Including Carlos Alcaraz vs Andrea Vavassori

Carlos Alcaraz’s second match since his dramatic Australian Open quarterfinal loss to Novak Djokovic is scheduled for Day 4 of the ATP 500 in Rotterdam. The four-time Grand Slam champion will face Andrea Vavassori. We at LWOT predict that match and two others in this article. The rest of the action, including Stefanos Tsitsipas vs Tallon Griekspoor, is predicted in a separate article.

ATP Rotterdam Day 4 Predictions

Jakub Mensik vs Alex de Minaur

Head-to-head: de Minuar 1-0 Mensik

Last year’s runner-up, de Minaur, is slightly more natural on indoor hardcourts than Mensik. However, the Czech’s supreme talent means he can never be entirely counted out. Beating someone with de Minaur’s defensive skills and capability to redirect pace would be a significant signal of intent from the young star. However, the Australian’s indoor ability is more likely to win.
Prediction: de Minaur in 2

Andrey Rublev vs Fabian Marozsan

Head-to-head: Rublev 1-1 Marozsan

This has the potential to be very challenging for Rublev. Marozsan defeated him earlier this season at the Hong Kong Open and beat Frances Tiafoe at the Australian Open. Rublev will hope that conditions help him since the multiple-time Grand Slam quarterfinalist has enjoyed much more indoor success than Marozsan. It could be a tight battle, but Rublev is tipped to get his revenge against Marozsan in Rotterdam.
Prediction: Rublev in 3

Carlos Alcaraz vs Andrea Vavassori

Head-to-head: Alcaraz 1-0 Vavassori

Although he will not publicly admit it, Alcaraz might be relieved to face Vavassori instead of Felix Auger-Aliassime, who retired after the second set of his opening-round match against Vavassori. The Canadian has already won two titles this year, including on the indoor courts of Montpellier last week. Vavassori was competitive in the opening set against Alcaraz in Buenos Aires last year. However, it is difficult to see how he can win two sets against someone in the Spaniard’s class.
Prediction: Alcaraz in 2
