The semifinals are set at the WTA Linz Open, featuring a strong lineup of talented players. Top seed Karolina Muchova is the favourite to lift the title but others have a good shot too. As always, we here at LWOT will offer our predictions for both the semifinal matches. But which two players will advance to the finals?
WTA Linz Semifinal Predictions
Clara Tauson vs Dayana Yastremska
Head-to-Head: Tauson 0-1 Yastremska
Clara Tauson’s dream start to the season keeps getting better as she is just one win away from another final. The Danish player is now 10-1 this year with the only loss coming against Aryna Sabalenka. It wasn’t the best performance from Tauson against Anna Blinkova but she served well and got the job done in straight sets. She will debut in the top 30 next week if she wins this semifinal match.
Dayana Yastremska fought a tough battle against Maria Sakkari in the first set and then ran away with the match. She has looked great and focused this week, and it will be tough for Tauson to beat her if she can keep up this level. A win will take Yastremska back inside the top 50. It’s going to be a fascinating encounter between two in-form players and I have Tauson coming out on top.

Karolina Muchova vs Ekaterina Alexandrova
Head-to-Head:
Karolina Muchova had to fight hard in the quarterfinals to win a tightly contested match against Anastasia Potapova. Muchova has now reached the semifinals in five of her last six tournaments and is two wins away from winning the biggest title of her career. Muchova did take an MTO in the match so it will be interesting to see if she’s fully fit for the semifinals.
Ekaterina Alexandrova had a slow start in the quarterfinal but composed herself and won the match. This is Alexandrova’s first semifinal of the season, and she will be looking to make it back-to-back finals at the Linz Open. Alexandrova has defeated Muchova previously but Muchova won their only meeting on a hard court. If Muchova is fit, she is the favourite to reach the final.
