WTA Singapore Quarterfinal Predictions Including Elise Mertens vs Camila Osorio

The quarterfinal matches of the 2025 WTA Singapore Open are set. It has been a good tournament for seeded players with four of them still in contention. Two of them collide as second seed Elise Mertens plays sixth seed Camila Osorio. Who will reach the last four?

WTA Singapore Quarterfinal Predictions

Ann Li vs Kimberly Birrell

Head-to-head: first meeting

Ann Li has lost just nine games in two matches. She’s been dominant and has a full battery in this quarterfinal against Kimberly Birrell. The Australian won a rollercoaster match against Hailey Baptiste, fighting a late break in the third set to prevail 7-5 in almost three hours. With Li looking so assured from the baseline, she should be considered a favorite here in an evenly poised matchup.
Prediction: Li in 2

Anna Kalinskaya vs Manachaya Sawangkaew

Head-to-head: first meeting

There is an element of unpredictability here as Kalinsakya comes up against a player she might have seen very little of before. Sawangkaew made her mark toward the end of last season with back-to-back quarterfinals at the WTA level (Guangzhou and Jiujang). Remarkably, this is now the third time she’s done it as a qualifier. But this will be a massive step up in quality. While Kalinskaya should ultimately clinch a semifinal spot, Sawangkaew has shown promise with admirable court coverage. This will be competitive.
Prediction: Kalinskaya in 3

Jil Teichmann vs Xinyu Wang

Head-to-head: Wang 1-0 Teichmann

This might be Teichmann’s resurgence in the making. No sets lost from qualifying. She will contest just her second WTA quarterfinal since 2022. Wang, for her part, survived an early scare against Australian teenager Maya Joint before cruising in straight sets. This should be an exciting battle and I reckon another slow start by Wang is unlikely to go unpunished, especially with Teichmann finding her feet again.
Prediction: Teichmann in 3

Elise Mertens vs Camila Osorio

Head-to-head: Mertens 2-0 Osorio

Mertens dropped a titanic opening set tie-break against the dangerous Tatjana Maria but problem-solved her way out of trouble in the next two sets. Camila Osorio, meanwhile, benefitted from a day off after a topsy-turvy three-set win of her own on Wednesday. Mertens is tactically disciplined. She makes fewer errors and is reliably solid from the baseline. Osorio will need to play out of her comfort zone, but that’s not a guarantee she’ll hit through the Belgian.
Prediction: Mertens in 3
