Basilashvili – Droguet: 27.01.2025 13:30 CEST
H2H: first meeting
Nikoloz Basilashvili has won three of his last five matches. Last week in Oeiras, He reached the quarterfinals of the Challenger tournament in Oeiras, losing against Blockx in straight sets. In Montpellier, He won the opening qualifying round against Gigante in straight sets. He trailed 0-3 in the second set but successfully turned it around. His last appearance here was in 2023, losing against Barrere in the second round. This is his seventh appearance in Montpellier. He has never made it past the second round.
Titouan Droguet has won three of his last five matches. Last week in Quimper, He reached the quarterfinals, losing against Herbert in straight sets. In Montpellier, He won the opening qualifying round against Royer in three tight sets. He even saved one match point in the deciding set tiebreak. This is his second appearance in Montpellier. Last year, He failed to qualify for the main draw tournament.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, this will be a 50-50 match, but we disagree. Nikoloz is a better indoor hard-court player than Droguet, and we expect him to win this match easily. He also has more experience in Montpellier than Droguet. Basilashvili is also in better form than Droguet.
That being said, Basilashvili winning is a value bet.

Kovacevic – Carreno-Busta: 27.01.2025 13:30 CEST
H2H: first meeting
Aleksandar Kovacevic has won four of his last five matches. Last week in Oeiras, Kovacevic won the Challenger title, defeating Piros in the final in straight sets. This week in Quimper, Aleksandar lost against Martineau in the second round in straight sets. In Montpellier, Kovacevic defeated Bertrand in the opening qualifying round. He struggled with his serve, offering nine breakpoints. This is his first appearance in Montpellier.
Pablo Carreno-Busta has lost three of his last five matches. Two weeks ago in Melbourne, Pablo lost in the second round of the Australian Open against Ben Shelton in four tight sets. In Montpellier, the Spaniard won against Svrcina in the opening qualifying round in straight sets. His return game was brilliant, breaking Svrcina’s serve four times. This is his third appearance in Montpellier. His first appearance happened in 2012, failing to qualify for the main draw tournament. He was injured for the last few years, so he skipped this part of the season. The last time Pablo played in Montpellier was in 2020, losing against Gombos in the opening round.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, this will be an almost 50-50 match, but we disagree. Pablo showed solid tennis in his opening qualifying round. Aleksandar rarely plays in Europe, and he has never had any success on European indoor courts. Carreno-Busta has never had any success on indoor courts, but he can play well on every surface. We believe that his experience will prevail in this match.
That being said, Carreno-Busta winning is a value bet.
