United Cup Quarterfinal Predictions Including Iga Swiatek vs Katie Boulter

Four-time French Open champion Iga Swiatek and Katie Boulter have yet to lose a match at the United Cup. That makes their upcoming meeting in Poland and Great Britain’s quarterfinal a fascinating matchup. Hubert Hurkacz is also set to be in action in the other singles match against Billy Harris. This article predicts all the contests, but which country do you expect to reach the semifinals?

United Cup Quarterfinal Predictions

Iga Swiatek vs Katie Boulter

Head-to-head: First meeting

Boulter’s performances at the United Cup have been impressive, but she will almost certainly need to be even better to challenge Swiatek. The Briton’s powerful and aggressive hitting is a style that sometimes troubles Swiatek, and the medium-fast conditions in Sydney will also help Boulter. Despite those factors, last year’s Nottingham Open champion probably needs to be perfect from start to finish. Boulter rarely goes an entire match without a drop in level, which could prove the difference.
Prediction: Swiatek in 3

Hubert Hurkacz vs Billy Harris

Head-to-head: First meeting

Harris has acted as Jack Draper’s replacement at the United Cup after Great Britain’s No. 1 ATP player withdrew with an injury. The world No. 125 lost both his matches in the group stage despite Great Britain’s qualification. Overcoming Hurkacz is a tough ask. Harris’ return is one of the best parts of his game, which might give him some hope against the Pole’s huge serve. However, that is unlikely to be enough to avoid defeat.
Prediction: Hurkacz in 2

Iga Swiatek/Hubert Hurkacz vs Katie Boulter/Charles Broom

Neither team used the same doubles pairing in the group-stage matches. It is unlikely that Swiatek, Hurkacz, or Boulter will play if either of the teams holds an unassailable 2-0 lead. Swiatek and Hurkacz have built an impressive understanding as a partnership, which would be challenging to beat. If Team Poland needs a victory in the deciding doubles match to progress, Swiatek and Hurkacz will likely secure it.
Prediction: Swiatek/Hurkacz in 2
