Day 3 of the United Cup will feature some great matchups and this article will provide predictions of the Group B clash between Czechia and Norway. There are a number of big . But which team will come out on top?
United Cup Day 3 Predictions: Czechia vs Norway
Karolina Muchova vs Malene Helgo
Head-to-Head: first meeting
Karolina Muchova had to miss the first half of 2024 completely due to wrist surgery. However, she looked in great touch after returning from the surgery. Muchova is one of the most talented players on the tour, and if she can stay healthy in 2025, she can cause trouble. Muchova is playing in the United Cup for the first time and she has a comfortable first match against Malene Helgo, who is ranked outside the top 400 and doesn’t have much experience at this level. Helgo did play well in her previous United Cup matches but it is hard to see her troubling Muchova.

Tomas Machac vs Casper Ruud
Head-to-Head: Ruud 2-0 Machac
Tomas Machac ended his 2024 season strongly and played some great tennis in Tokyo and Shanghai. Those performances helped him to reach a new career-high ranking of 25. Breaking inside the top 20 would be a big goal for Machac this season. Casper Ruud’s second half of 2024 was below par after a brilliant first half. However, reaching the semifinals of the ATP Finals would have given him much-needed confidence. Ruud has a solid record at the United Cup and should have the edge in what may prove to be a must-win match for his team.
Prediction: Ruud in 3

Karolina Muchova and Tomas Machac vs Ulrikke Eikeri and Casper Ruud
Muchova and Machac look like the stronger pair on paper in this matchup. Machac has won an Olympic gold medal in mixed doubles, and Muchova plays exceptionally well at the net. Eikeri and Ruud have the advantage of playing together before in the previous edition of the United Cup. However, that may not make much difference in the outcome of this match. The Czech team should win this match and the tie.
Prediction: Muchova/Machac in 3
