Alvarez Valdes – Draxl: 27.11.2024 02:00 CEST
H2H: first meeting

Luis Carlos Alvarez Valdes has won three of his last five matches. Luis reached the semifinals last week in Puerto Vallarta, losing against Basavareddy in straight sets. Nishesh Basavareddy ended up winning the tournament. Alvarez Valdes has not played many professional matches as a senior player. He spent most of this season playing on the hard courts. Luis is competing at the ITF level and hopes to transition soon enough to the Challenger Tour level. He was also granted a wild card last week in Puerto Vallarta and this week in Manzanillo.

Liam Draxl has won four of his last five matches. Last week in Puerto Vallarta, Draxl reached the final, losing against Basavareddy in straight sets. He is currently lurking around the top 250 in the rankings. Liam competed at the ITF and Challenger tournaments this season. He had his biggest results at the ITF tournaments, where he won several tournaments. The young Canadian skipped the beginning of the season due to an injury. His first tournament this season was in Little Rock in May.

Best Bet to Make

According to the bookies, Draxl is the big favorite in this matchup, and we agree. Liam is slowly but surely getting back to his best form. He had a title shot last week in Mexico, which should give him confidence in this match. On the other hand, Luis Carlos never had any success at the professional level. We expect Draxl to dominate from the very start and win this match easily.

That being said, Draxl covering the games handicap is a value bet.

Value bet/ the best odds: Liam Draxl -5.5 games handicap @1.91 @bet365

Escobedo – Hussey: 27.11.2024 00:00 CEST
H2H: first meeting

Ernesto Escobedo has lost four of his last five matches. Last week in Puerto Vallarta, Escobedo lost his opening match against Pacheco Mendez in three tight sets. His last win was over a month ago in Calgary, where he defeated Pannu in the opening main draw round. Ernesto had his biggest results in 2022 when he reached his highest ranking at 296. He is currently fighting to stay in the top 500.

Giles Hussey has lost three of his last five matches. Last week in Puerto Vallarta, Hussey reached the second round, losing against Basavareddy in three sets. The Brit had his biggest results at the ITF level, winning several titles this season. His biggest results were in March/April, with 18 straight wins.

Best Bet to Make

According to the bookies, this should be a 50-50 match. Hussey is currently in better form and has had a better season overall than Escobedo. Last week in Mexico, Hussey put up a fight against Basavareddy, who ended up winning the tournament. We expect him to dominate in this match and win comfortably.

That being said, Hussey winning is a value bet.
