His first tournament this season was in Little Rock in May.

According to the bookies, Draxl is the big favorite in this matchup, and we agree. Liam is slowly but surely getting back to his best form. He had a title shot last week in Mexico, which should give him confidence in this match. On the other hand, Luis Carlos never had any success at the professional level. We expect Draxl to dominate from the very start and win this match easily.

Ernesto Escobedo has lost four of his last five matches. Last week in Puerto Vallarta, Escobedo lost his opening match against Pacheco Mendez in three tight sets. His last win was over a month ago in Calgary, where he defeated Pannu in the opening main draw round. Ernesto had his biggest results in 2022 when he reached his highest ranking at 296. He is currently fighting to stay in the top 500.
Giles Hussey has lost three of his last five matches. Last week in Puerto Vallarta, Hussey reached the second round, losing against Basavareddy in three sets. The Brit had his biggest results at the ITF level, winning several titles this season. His biggest results were in March/April, with 18 straight wins.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, this should be a 50-50 match. Hussey is currently in better form and has had a better season overall than Escobedo. Last week in Mexico, Hussey put up a fight against Basavareddy, who ended up winning the tournament. We expect him to dominate in this match and win comfortably.
