ATP 250 Metz 1/16-Finals
Bautista-Agut – Bonzi: 05.11.2024 18:00 CEST
H2H: first meeting
Roberto Bautista-Agut has won four of his last five matches. Last week in Basel, Roberto reached the second round, where he fell short to Shapovalov in straight sets. Just a week before that, Roberto won the title in Antwerp, winning against Lehecka in the final. With that result, the Spaniard came back into the top 50 in the rankings. Last year around this time, Roberto played in Sofia, where he reached the second round, losing against Marozsan in three tight sets.
Benjamin Bonzi has won four of his last five matches. Last week in Brest, Bonzi played at the challenger tournament, where he lost in the final against Virtanen in three tight sets. Here in Metz, Bonzi successfully qualified for the main-draw tournament. In the final qualifying round, Benjamin defeated Guinard in straight sets. Bonzi offered and saved two breakpoints.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, this should be a 50-50 match. Bonzi enjoys playing in front of the home crowd. He underperformed this season, but we know how good he is under these conditions. We expect Bonzi to win this match with the help of the crowd.
That being said, Bonzi winning is a value bet.

ATP 250 Metz 1/8-Finals
Rublev – Sonego: 05.11.2024 14:00 CEST
H2H: 2-2
Andrey Rublev has lost three of his last five matches. Last week in Paris, Andrey lost his opening match against Cerundolo in straight sets. The Russian had a decent number of opportunities to secure his spot in the ATP Finals in Turin. However, with his recent poor performances, Andrey decided to play in Metz, to secure his spot in Turin. With his last defeat against Cerundolo in Paris, Rublev fell behind de Minaur in the rankings.
Lorenzo Sonego has won three of his last five matches. Last week in Paris, Sonego lost his opening main-draw match against Jarry in straight sets. Here in Metz, Lorenzo won his opening match against Barrere in straight sets. Sonego lost his serve only once in the match. Other than that, the Italian was a better player throughout the whole match. Two years ago, Sonego won the title here in Metz. Last year in Metz, Lorenzo reached the quarterfinals, when he was upset by Fognini in straight sets.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, Andrey is the favorite in this matchup. Lorenzo has already had some decent success here in Metz. He is also a heavy hitter, and has nothing to lose. On the other hand, Rublev will play under a lot of pressure, considering how much he has at stake. We expect Sonego to be calm, and to at least keep this match tight.
That being said, Sonego covering the games handicap is a value bet.
