The final is set at the Rolex ATP Paris Masters and Ugo Humbert has delivered big time on his home soil. Humbert becomes the first French player to reach the Paris Masters final since 2011 and will look to become only the fourth Frenchman to win the event. However, Alexander Zverev will have other ideas as he will look to add another Masters title to his collection.
As always, we here at LWOT will offer our predictions for the final. But which player will lift the trophy?
ATP Paris Final Prediction
Alexander Zverev vs Ugo Humbert
Head-to-Head: Zverev 1-1 Humbert
Alexander Zverev played a solid match against Holger Rune to advance to his 12th Masters final. Zverev dictated the points from the baseline and was aggressive behind his forehand. This was the German’s best match of the week, but he is still not at his best level. Zverev will play his second Paris Masters final and will look to win this time and add to his six Masters titles. It will also be his second Masters title of the season. He will return to world No.2 after this week, which has been one of his goals this year (to finish the year as world No.2).
Ugo Humbert has given immense joy to the Paris crowd this week, not just because he is a local player and has reached the final, but because of the way he has played. Humbert’s first-strike tennis has been outstanding, and it has contributed significantly to his victories over Carlos Alcaraz and the in-form Karen Khachanov. Humbert has played with a lot of emotion, and the crowd has supported him at every turn. The Frenchman is into his first Masters final and fourth final of the year.
Humbert is on a 13-match win streak on indoor hard-court tournaments on French soil, while Zverev hasn’t lost to a left-handed player since his return from ankle injury in 2023. This is a rematch of last year’s second-round match, where Zverev won in an extremely close contest. Humbert takes the ball early, which can rush Zverev, but he will need to execute his gameplan without making many errors. Zverev has the better serve, and Humbert’s lefty serve will go to his strength, his backhand. The crowd can also become a big factor, but if Zverev can deal with it, he should edge this.
Prediction: Zverev in 3
