ATP 500 Vienna 1/8-Finals
Zverev – Giron: 23.10.2024 18:00 CEST
H2H: 2-0
Alexander Zverev has won four of his last five matches. Two weeks ago in Shanghai, Zverev was upset by Goffin in straight sets. The German had many big matches this season, but usually fumbled under pressure when it was most important. Here in Vienna, Zverev won his opening match against Schwaerzler in straight sets as we predicted. He is looking to regain self-confidence for the upcoming tournaments in Paris and the ATP Finals. In 2021, Zverev won the title here in Vienna. Last year in Vienna, Zverev reached the quarterfinals, where he lost against Rublev in three tight sets.
Marcos Giron has won four of his last five matches. Last week in Antwerp, Giron reached the semifinals, where he lost against Lehecka in three tight sets. Here in Vienna, Marcos defeated Michelsen in the opening round in straight sets. Giron lost his serve twice in the match, but broke back and turned the match around. Marcos is hoping for a solid result this week to cement his top 50 status. Last year around this time, Giron played in Basel, where he lost his opening match against Humbert in three tight sets.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, Zverev is the big favorite in this matchup. Marcos has been playing solidly for the last couple of weeks. He loves to play indoor tennis, and we believe that he will keep this match tight.
That being said, Giron covering the games handicap is a value bet.

Tiafoe – Berrettini: 23.10.2024 19:30 CEST
H2H: 1-1
Frances Tiafoe has won three of his last five matches. Last week in Almaty, Tiafoe lost his quarterfinal match against Vukic in straight sets. Frances is looking for a solid result this week, to cement his top 20 status. Here in Vienna, Tiafoe won his opening match against Norrie in straight sets as we predicted. So far this season, Tiafoe has had his biggest results on the fast hard courts such as this one. Last year in Vienna, Tiafoe reached the quarterfinals, losing against Sinner in straight sets.
Matteo Berrettini has won three of his last five matches. Last week in Stockholm, Matteo reached the 1/8-Finals, where he was upset by Stricker in straight sets. Here in Vienna, Matteo won his opening match against Fucsovics in straight sets. Considering his injuries, Berrettini did not play many matches this season, but has done a great job in almost every single tournament. His biggest results were on the clay courts. However, Matteo loves to play on the fast indoor courts such as this one as well. Last year, around this time, Berrettini was injured, and skipped the second part of the season.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, this should be a 50-50 match. Both players love to play on the indoor courts. We believe that Berrettini is a better player at this moment, and that he will get the job done here in Vienna.
That being said, Berrettini winning is a value bet.
