ATP 250 Antwerp 1/8-Finals
Auger-Aliassime – Fucsovics: 16.10.2024 Time TBA
H2H: 2-2
Felix Auger-Aliassime has won three of his last five matches. So far in the Asian swing, Felix has lost both of his opening matches. Last week in Shanghai, Felix was upset by Muller in his opening match in straight sets. The Canadian is looking for a solid result this week, to get back into the top 20 in the rankings. Last year around this time, Felix played in Basel, where he won the title, winning against Hurkacz in the final.
Marton Fucsovics has lost three of his last five matches. After retiring against Lehecka in the US Open, Marton was recovering from an injury. It was a back injury that has been bothering him for the last couple of months. However, yesterday in the first round, Fucsovics defeated Collignon in straight sets, and played great tennis. Marton had an outstanding performance, winning 6-2 6-0. Last year around this time, Marton played in Stockholm, where he lost his opening match against Monfils in three tight sets.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, Felix is the slight favorite in this matchup. Felix is completely out of form. On the other hand, Fucsovics is coming back from an injury. However, he played great tennis in the opening round, so we believe that he will keep this match tight.
That being said, Fucsovics winning at least one set is a value bet.
Value bet/ the best odds: Marton Fucsovics +1.5 sets @1.70 @bet365
De Minaur – Carballes Baena: 16.10.2024 Time TBA
H2H: 2-0
Alex de Minaur has won four of his last five matches. The last match he played was at the US Open, where he reached the quarterfinals, losing against Draper in straight sets. After that, de Minaur took some time off to rest his body and recover from a hip injury. Last year around this time, de Minaur played in Basel, where he lost in the 1/8-Finals against Griekspoor in straight sets.
Roberto Carballes Baena has won three of his last five matches. Last week in Shanghai, Baena lost in the third round of the tournament against Shelton in straight sets as we predicted. Here in Antwerp, Roberto won his opening match against Koepfer in straight sets. The Spaniard was 1-4 down in the first set. However, once he stepped up his level, Baena won 11 games in a row, and ended up winning the match 6-4 6-0. Last year in Antwerp, Baena lost his opening match against Mpetshi Perricard in three tight sets.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, de Minaur is the favorite in this matchup. Even though he has been out of the game for some time now, Alex is still a way better player than Baena on the indoor courts. We believe that he will dominate from the very start, and win this match easily in straight sets.
That being said, de Minaur winning in straight sets is a value bet.
