ATP 500 Beijing 1/8-Finals
Griekspoor – Alcaraz: 29.09.2024 Time TBA
H2H: 1-4
Tallon Griekspoor has lost three of his last five matches. Two weeks ago, Griekspoor represented the Netherlands in the Davis Cup, where he won one match, and lost two. Here in Beijing, Griekspoor defeated Kecmanovic in the opening round in three tight sets. After losing the first set 6-7, Tallon stepped up his level, and turned the match around. Last year around this time, Tallon played in Astana, where he lost in the quarterfinals against Korda in three tight sets.
Carlos Alcaraz has won five straight matches. Alcaraz helped Team Europe win the Laver Cup. He won both of his singles matches in straight sets, and showed great tennis. After Carlos lost in the final of the Olympic Games against Djokovic, his form dropped. It affected him mentally, but it looks like Carlos is playing at the highest level yet again. Here in Beijing, Carlos defeated Mpetshi Perricard in tight straight sets as we predicted. Last year in Beijing, Alcaraz reached the semifinals, where he lost against Jannik Sinner in straight sets.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, Alcaraz is the big favorite in this matchup. Griekspoor loves to play under fast conditions. We expect him to win some free points on his serve, and keep this match tight.
That being said, Griekspoor covering the games handicap is a value bet.

Khachanov – Cerundolo: 29.09.2024 Time TBA
H2H: 6-0
Karen Khachanov has lost three of his last five matches. Russians last couple of months were terrible for the Russian. He was aiming to return to the top 10 in the rankings at the beginning of the season. However, with his recent losses, Khachanov is close to dropping out of the top 30 in the rankings. Last week in Hangzhou, Khachanov lost his opening match against Bu in three tight sets. Here in Beijing, Karen defeated Carballes Baena in straight sets as we predicted. Last year in Beijing, Karen lost his opening match against Musetti in three tight sets.
Francisco Cerundolo has won four of his last five matches. Last week, Cerundolo played in the Laver Cup, where he won his only singles match against Ruud in straight sets. Here in Beijing, Cerundolo defeated Mensik in the opening round in straight sets. The first set was a roller coaster, but in the second set, Cerundolo dominated from the very start, and closed out the match convincingly.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, Khachanov is the slight favorite in this matchup. Karen loves to play under these fast conditions. He had his biggest results on the fast courts such as this one. On the other hand, Cerundolo loves to play on clay, and usually underperforms on the faster courts. We believe that Khachanov will dominate and win this match easily.
That being said, Khachanov winning is a value bet.
