ATP 250 Chengdu 1/8-Finals
Jarry – Klein: 20.09.2024 10:00 CEST
H2H: 1-0
Nicolas Jarry has lost seven straight matches. His last win was in Rome four months ago. Jarry won that match against Paul in the semifinals. Nicolas struggled with injuries this season, which is the main reason why he underperformed for the last couple of months. His last win on the hard court was in Miami, in March. So far this season, Jarry has not had any remarkable results. His biggest result was reaching the final in Rome, where he lost against Zverev in straight sets.
Lukas Klein has lost four of his last five matches. Before his opening round win against Walton, Lukas had his last win almost two months ago. Lukas defeated Walton in the first round in straight sets. Klein played for Slovakia last week in the Davis Cup, where he lost both of his matches in straight sets as we predicted. Lukas has not had any remarkable results this season, which is the main reason why he is outside the top 100. Last year around this time, Klein skipped the Asian swing, and spent time playing at the challenger tour level.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, this should be a 50-50 match. Even though Jarry is out of form, we still believe that he is a way better player than Klein. We expect him to finally win the match, and get his form back.
That being said, Jarry winning is a value bet.

Vukic – Martinez: 20.09.2024 13:00 CEST
H2H: 0-1
Aleksandar Vukic has won three of his last five matches. He lost his opening match at the US Open against Purcell in straight sets. Here in Chengdu, Aleksnadar defeated Coric in the first round of the tournament. He even saved two match points in the second set. Vukic is struggling with his form at the moment. He has not had any remarkable results this season. Aleksandar needs to start winning if he wants to keep his top 100 spots.
Pablo Martinez has lost four of his last five matches. Last week in the Davis Cup, Martinez lost his match against Popyrin in straight sets. The Spaniard loves to play on the slow clay courts, where he had his biggest results. However, he usually underperforms under faster conditions such as this one. Martinez lost in the second round of the US Open against Popyrin in straight sets once again. So far this season, Martinez has won the challenger title in Girona on clay, and reached the final in Estoril, where he lost against Hurkacz in straight sets as we predicted.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, Vukic is the slight favorite in this matchup. We believe that he is a better player under these conditions than Martinez. Vukic played solidly in the first round against Coric. On the other hand, Pablo has not had any success on the hard courts this season.
That being said, Vukic winning is a value bet.
